Liquid Courage || Gadget&Amelia
the-mightygadgetâ:
A superhero? Now that was a first. Sheâd been called an angel, an absolute goddamn miracle, and a few other choice things. But a hero? Nah. She wasnât a superhero at all. She was just good olâ Gadget Hackwrench, mechanic extraordinaire.Â
âIf youâre tryinâ to make me blush, youâre close to makinâ it happen,â Gadget teased as she took a sip of her drink. âAnd, straight tequila is good. But I have to ask what youâre tryinâ to do because damn. Straight tequila? Thatâs asking for a night thatâs crazy and probably not gonna be remembered.â Not that Gadget was judging at all. Thereâd been plenty of nights where her drink of choice had been something stronger. Something that was going to get her fucked up quick and keep her that way well into the evening.
Amelia was feeling a little bit insane.Â
Sheâd been having these nightmares for weeks and it was like she didnât know her life anymore. In some of them, sheâd be a kid, but she didnât recognize her parents because their faces were all blurry, but she knew they werenât her actual parents. She could tell that just by their outlines.Â
Then, in others, she was alone with her mother and her mother was always sad, but Amelia didnât know why and she couldnât help her. Sometimes they were completely nonsensical. Sometimes she was in the ocean, but she wasnât drowning. Sometimes she was in what could only be described as hell but nothing was coming after her. She was just alone and confused.Â
Dreams had to come from somewhere, sheâd read, but where the fuck were these coming from?Â
Anyway, all of that to say Amelia wasnât feeling her most stable. Thatâs why, when Gadget mentioned Amelia making her blush, Amelia did the only thing she could think of at that moment.Â
She leaned over and kissed the woman, tequila still wetting her lips. Maybe kissing would make everything go away.Â
