I'm very happy they re-released Gene Roddenberry's novelisation of Star Trek The Motion Picture. Now even more people can see just how weird it is: 

- "Love instructors" - A footnote about how Kirk is totally not gay for Spock*  - Half a page of Kirk staring at Ilia's naked body  

* I do love how "t'hy'la" seemed, to me, like Gene's way of saying that Kirk only likes women, but then fan-fiction and slash-fiction writers just went "Yeah, no, it 100% means they're lovers Gene" and it became a major part of the Kirk/Spock community. Good for them IMO.
