Started to get presents out of my closet, saw a white flash! Boom. Thunder ? I heard of snow thunder before- power out. Dammit.
Texted neighbor, power out too. Contacted my power company thinking nothing of it. Putts around, went to feed my cat - looked out window. The hell?
Orange flickering light! Why?! Where? On my electrical pole. Nooooo!
Called 911 . Power company came before the first responders. 911 called power company - dispatcher to dispatcher. Laughter from another 911 dispatcher who was helping.
First responders came and i asked if I should move my car. Got the go ahead. First sent of keys did not work? Why? It's my sister's car, so I had the spares. Went to got get the regular ones, had to dig through her purse, Lunchpal, coat pockets stuffed with tissues, sauce packets, there was a wrench then found the stupid keys.
Jumped in the cold car, windows glazed over from the cold. Cold. Got away from the commotion zone.
First responders said that they didn't need to do anything and had me fill out some paperwork. Just name, address , and number. And left.
Power company is still working. The picture above was when I was on the phone with 911 dispatcher.
Had talked to my neighbor, who i guess talked with first responders and she said the first responders thought I was a rock star.

Update. It was a switch that blew and the upper half of my electrical pole is gone. But the best part?
