I have free time on my hands, and losing my corporate job seems to be a win-win now to restart my art journey.
So, I got into playing Skyrim for like a day not to long ago. I started a new character and I just want to share him.
His name is Yam, an Orc. Kind of peckish at the moment (Skyrim survival) and just got brown rot from a Draugr while exploring Bleak Falls Barrow to get that stupid Golden Claw for Lucan, because he wants the coin on hand.
I thought of a small backstory where his Orc stronghold, where he grew up, is called "The Basket," and his family is named after vegetables. Once he came of age, he left to make his own Basket.
He likes apples and cooked meats.
Which monster species are you obsessed with??
I am drawn towards Plant/Nature Monsters -- an elemental with mossy eldritch monstrosity, cool. Something that is inherently normal, like nature, but it's twisted beyond our human brain comprehension...
Animal hybrids or shifters like werewolves or an antlered demigod fit in that category, but I don't really consider it for mermaids or sea monsters -- unless they can live on land. Land is where I am, and I am in a place where I am landlocked. If it's out at sea, I couldn't care less.
Though a horned demon with fire hair always has a soft spot in my heart.

So, I have been at odds with myself, trying to determine if creating a graphic novel is really how I want to format my stories. It is honestly a falter that I never expected to have, especially when I am at the level where my art can be passable.
On my search to see the pros and cons of each art format and actually considering scraping my work and have my format be a novel, I read an article and came across this:
It could take me a two page spread in a comic/graphic novel/ whatever to conquer while it could take maybe five.
Went to see "Iron Lung" last night.

Merry Christmas! I woke up at 5:30 this morning 🌄 sonofa
Started to get presents out of my closet, saw a white flash! Boom. Thunder ? I heard of snow thunder before- power out. Dammit.
Texted neighbor, power out too. Contacted my power company thinking nothing of it. Putts around, went to feed my cat - looked out window. The hell?
Orange flickering light! Why?! Where? On my electrical pole. Nooooo!
Called 911 . Power company came before the first responders. 911 called power company - dispatcher to dispatcher. Laughter from another 911 dispatcher who was helping.
First responders came and i asked if I should move my car. Got the go ahead. First sent of keys did not work? Why? It's my sister's car, so I had the spares. Went to got get the regular ones, had to dig through her purse, Lunchpal, coat pockets stuffed with tissues, sauce packets, there was a wrench then found the stupid keys.
Jumped in the cold car, windows glazed over from the cold. Cold. Got away from the commotion zone.
First responders said that they didn't need to do anything and had me fill out some paperwork. Just name, address , and number. And left.
Power company is still working. The picture above was when I was on the phone with 911 dispatcher.
Had talked to my neighbor, who i guess talked with first responders and she said the first responders thought I was a rock star.

Update. It was a switch that blew and the upper half of my electrical pole is gone. But the best part?
Power!

Haven't drew for a while. I had asked what to draw and was suggested horror and monster.
I had - of course - a better picture in my head, but I can always come back to the idea now it is down.
I'm sick again...
