this face is a cry for help
So my computer was totally broken for a few days there my bad dudes. I had to drop new HDs in. Working on getting all my icons back. ;A;
“well if you’re not here to attempt to kill me, what is it you want, mate?” james asks, quiet and amused. part of him will never tire of doing this dance. the way his heart races as he wonders if this is going to be another near death moment, if someone else has come to try and kill him. will they be the first and only to succeed? or will james wiggle out of death’s grasp one more time?
or is it a job they want done? medical? messier than that? it’s that high he chases, that’s lead him into incredibly unsavory places time and time again.
“you’ve got about forty of my fuckin’ seconds, i’ve got appointments you know?” a blatant lie.. the mirthful upward tug of one corner of his mouth gives him away.
@deltakhaki ♥’d for a starter 100000 years ago i’m sorry i am so slow
noprodigalson:
each day had something in store for the hunter, especially when he had james by his side. they brought that extra thrill, a different type of danger that dean still enjoyed. it was a change of pace, a break from the terror of facing down monsters who wished to eat your organs. dean knew that a time like this would come, as it had for everyone else in dean’s life, but it didn’t mean that he hated losing that presence that remained by his side for so long. even if there had only been a week, dean still felt their absence.
“ you know i’m gonna be worrying, ya ? especially after seeing how you take care of yourself. ”dean says, trying to stay lighthearted by teasing the other. a hand reached out to ruin the styling of the man’s hair. “better not be trying to run from me, because i will find you one way or another. ”
“if you weren’t so terrified of planes,” james trails off, a sad, pensive sort of laugh passing his lips, because he has to laugh. he has to laugh at his own loneliness sometimes. he kept doing this to himself. finding people to miss. no. don’t make that offer--
“it’s not goodbye forever. at least, i certainly hope not,” it was, it always was, people let go, people drift apart, people-- “you understand laying low.”
“RUMORS OF MY DEATH HAVE BEEN GREATLY EXAGGERATED AND ALL THAT SHIT…”
“it’s only a matter of time, mate,” he says quietly to dean, tucking his chin toward his chest as he exhales a breath he’d been holding for far too long, “i can’t stay. i’ve got to skip town. hop across the pond until the heat dies down.” he planned to return to his hideaway, the one place no one ever knew to look for him. the british virgin islands. he couldn’t tell dean that. he couldn’t tell anyone. it was the only way to keep that place safe.
“you won’t miss me a bit.”
@noprodigalson
i’m here for things. smash the ♥ for a random starter of some sort or hmu to plot.
He’s late, but it’s the thought that counts, right? And the thought is: “Blood is red, bruises are blue, I hate you— but your liquor is nice”
“..........”
He’s never really sure how to respond to Roderick. He tends to fly by the seat of his pants. Liquor. Liquor seems to be the correct answer.
“Right. Well. You’ll have to try saying please instead of ‘I hate you’.”
hey look i’m not dead who wants a starter?
allpurposebogeyman:
“Can but don’t. Or is your clothing’s impeccable taste not all that’s keeping you from being such a lonely bastard?” Roderick spends at least as much time alone as James does, but at least he recognizes why. ( Roderick S. Kasun is Terrible, is not worth the time, is dancing so close to the edge he is going to cut himself to ribbons. Like this )
James wants him closer, he can do closer. Rod lets himself be drawn forward for a moment, before grabbing onto one of James’ legs with his free hand and abruptly reversing direction. It’s not likely to actually haul the other man off his chair at this angle, but it ought to be jarring enough to let him know just what Rod thinks of this little game.
“I think if we start drawing comparisons between the two of us, you won’t like how things shake out.”
“ah--” so it’s like that, is it? james angles a knee, aims for a soft spot, pushes, and then lets that momentum of roderick’s take them both to the floor. fine. absolutely fine. escalation was sort of his specialty. and roderick, who was so willing to play along, so willing to sink into stupidity and sparring (verbal or otherise), made it just that much easier.
he laughs, because it wouldn’t make sense to hold it in. he lays there on the ground and laughs. he’s not felt mirthful like this in a while, and it’s colored with irritation in a way that creates a heated cocktail of chemicals swirl in his head. those chemicals create a tingling under his skin, the alcohol has only served to enhance that feeling.
“you’re such a fuck up, roderick,” he says lowly, but in a way that almost sounds like he’s speaking to himself and not the other man. they both were, in certain senses. men at the top of their game within their specialized fields, but their personal lives ran the gambit of all possible unhealthy habits.
xcommon:
Mercy watches the man make his considerations, weighing the odds. He sees when James debates whether or not he can kill him, plots the exits, considers the consequences of betraying his employers, and thinks on the consequences of each action. Mercy can identify each in the other man’s eyes because he recognizes it by what he would have done were the roles reversed.
James makes the right decision in the offer. Mercy smirks.
“—You are correct there…sorts itself out that way.” He’s not ready to let his guard down but if this guy doesn’t do anything stupid, he might get out alive. Mercy, contrary to his profession, to what he’s really good at. Doesn’t take joy in killing people, but if needs must, well.
“doesn’t it though?” james hesitates for a moment, and then moves across the space and picks up the nearest medical implement to him. a pair of forceps. he’s still got work to do even though his patient is now several minutes deceased.
“you should probably leave, unless you intend to assist with this next part,” james plants a hand on the dead man’s jaw, prying it open. it’s obvious he’s no stranger to work like this. wet work. dirty work. it’s almost worse than killing. mutilating a man after death, to make sure his loved ones never get a chance to mourn him, is its own kind of hell.
“fingerprints don’t remove themselves after all,” james says, nodding toward the door. he’s telling mercy to go. this won’t be the last time they see one another. they’ll be in touch. sooner rather than later.
@xcommon
Tell me this wouldn't be James and Mercy TELL ME.

“ — You said as if it really is. ” They’ve met before and as far as Mercy knows of James, money is money is money. It’s all a series of checks and balances. Sure, there’s more to the picture but the dark-haired man has got shit to do. “ …A problem. ”
The straight face on rough features makes it hard to tell if he’s making light of the conundrum that the other man may or may not be in. Does he care? No. That hesitation to stop him sits firmly in the lap of a man who heals Europe’s worst. Mercy doesn’t concern himself with the affairs ( or thereafter ) of men who chose this life, to serve these people. And Jesus Christ hasn’t anyone learned not to put anything that could be used as a weapon within Mercy’s grasp? A righteous man full of anger?
His mouth twitches as James continues to speak. He looks calm but men like him always look calm when they’re about to be dangerous. “ — Is that a threat or an offer? ” The corner of his mouth raises fractionally.
mercy was a dangerous bloke. as dangerous as james was. maybe more. it took a lot of nerve to stand so confidently in this line of work. so to threaten him wasn’t entirely conducive to james’ health. still. a problem had been created here. a problem with many varying solutions.
“well they can’t kill me, if they meet their own ends first,” james says smoothly, which means it is, in fact, an offer. james has intimate knowledge of many criminal enterprises. so many, in fact, that he’s begun to keep books. or at least, pass information on to someone who does (an accountant, if you will) and in exchange, on occasion, said person has done him favors.
at the end of the day, he’ll either pass his knowledge of mercy to his accountant, or pass his knowledge of the men paying to save the corpse on james’ table on to mercy.
“what do you say, then?”
