Long ago, Nightcrawler used to be insecure about himself because of his freakish appearance so he had to use his image inducer to hide his real appearance whenever he goes out in public. Wolverine proposes a dare on Nightcrawler that he can go out in public without using his image inducer to prove himself worthy. Nightcrawler accepts this challenge and shows his true form. As he shows himself, Nightcrawler could not believe that Harry the bartender was not fazed with his appearance. Nightcrawler takes a walk around the town without using the image inducer where he was met with a lot of stares and different reactions from the people - some were curious, some were disgusted and others were amazed. Then, Nightcrawler stumbles upon a group of bigots who tried to pick a fight with him. Fortunately for him, Wolverine was there to scare the bigots away.
