inspired by the unicorn tapestries and botanical illustrations, my newest lithograph features ginkgo and redwood leaves along with the troodontid Mei long, or the “sleeping dragon," after a fossil curled up in the same pose shown here.

fun fact: all the leaves in this print are actual leaves collected from city parks! gingkos and redwoods have existed since the Mesozoic and are popular ornamental trees, so it was both thematically appropriate and easy to obtain the leaves to use as stamps on my stone.

after deciding on an arrangement (see above), i individually inked each leaf and pressed them onto the matrix, which perfectly transferred the shape and texture into the final print. this was very much an experiment and also a trial of my patience (i spent six straight hours getting every leaf in the right place), and i am extremely pleased with how well the process worked! i 💚 leaf

Heyyyyyy I need some help brain storming

I wanna do some sort of spiderman related Halloween outfit (early I know but if I don’t start now it won’t happen) but I don’t wanna just being a spandex suit cause you know it’s tight

I’ve thought of like Peter B styles or like just getting a mask and using clothes, but I’m not really sure if that’s it…

What are some like spider man characters you think would be pretty recognizable? I was kinda thinking maybe Ned or like uncle Ben or something but I don’t know

no shame for thinking about halloween early. I'm doing that too. as for your spandex dilemma‚ so long as youre okay with a bit of diy, I have a suggestion:

a bit ago I found this reel by metta.bolic on instagram which shows a college student at mary baldwin university who does community service while dressed as spiderman. awesome guy. anyways‚ his suit‚ as far as I can tell‚ is just normal red/blue clothing thats been painted/ sewn together with other clothing of the same type to match the suit markings.

it would still definitely take work to make something similar‚ but I think it'd be a lot more comfortable than any spandex suit.

what I'm thinking‚ for the shirt‚ for example: is get two longsleeves/hoodies that are ideally identical but one is red and the other is blue. from there you can draw out the parts on both hoodies that you wanna keep and just sew them together with a whip stitch or something. if that makes sense.
