He made it too obvious, which was something he tried to avoid at all costs. But it seemed that Vers was more aware of her surroundings and read in his motions more than he expected her to. It was a good and bad thing at the same time - she could basically read him like an open book. There were no masks around her, with her he could be just… him. And yet, with every day passing, with every nightmare intensifying, Yon-Rogg feared the worst, that he might lose her for good. The worst thing, he was forced to learn to live with that.
As she leaned against him, Yon’s very first instinct was to wrap his arms around her and hold her close, chin resting on her shoulder. Think with the head, not the heart. It was too late for that, though he didn’t regret it. If there was somebody compromised, it was him. Compromised with emotions. “No,” he spoke, words almost a whisper. “I… I worry. I worry about you and the nightmares you’re having. Whatever the Skrulls did to you, it only made things worse. I remember when you’d wake up and shrug the dreams off like they were nothing. Now you’re shaking, looking as if you’ll break down any moment.”
“I don’t know why they are getting worse.” She said. She hated it, because it compromised him as well. Ever since they got together, she felt how her situation compromised him more and more. And vice versa, actually. With their bond growing - which was not against the rules, thankfully - they became a better team every day, but they also became each others weakness more and more every day and that was not good. She leaned her head back against him.
“I wish they weren’t. I guess I should get ready to meet the Supreme Intelligence, but...I really need to get out of this...funk.” Funk, was that even a word here? And if not, what was the word? She should really get ready and go there slowly. “You are coming with me, right?”
