yknow what i think is really interesting?? is that tony is the only character who visibly takes on damage.  i mean yeah the other avengers have scrapes on themselves and look tired,,,but tony always takes damage. whether its bruises or cuts, sunken eyes or a split lip - or even for the armour, chapped paints and scratches and marks - you can always see damage. you can always see where the suit is dented or where he’s taken a punch

unlike most male protagonists, both inside and outside the mcu, you see the visible effects that a fight has on tony, and i think that goes a long way in making him more human than any other character in the franchise
