It's 2016
Today my brother and I went to a car dealership to meet with a salesman so I can buy a car. The only reason my brother is there is because I needed a ride. Throughout the time I was there I was treated as though I was a little girl who knew nothing about cars. Below is a list of some of the things that happened. (The salesman’s name is dale)
• we go to the car to test drive, dale opens the passenger side door and motions for my brother to get in. I tell him I planned on sitting in the passenger seat since I am the one driving the car. When I tell him this he doesn’t open the door for me like he did for my brother. But walks away to hop in the drivers seat.
•when the test drive is done we go inside to talk prices, I mention I found this car for $11,500 online and asked why they’re selling it for $14,000. He laughs it off saying i most likely was looking at another model. When my brother confirms it was the same car I found online, he then takes it seriously then makes the offer.
•and finally at the end when we said well think about, he shakes my brothers hand and says “it’s been a pleasure” and when expect him to shake my hand he just sits back down and completely ignores me
So you might be thinking, did I get the car?? Yes I did.
The thing is I told Dale I wasn’t interested anymore and he laughed again at what he thought was my immaturity. The next day I show up and he sees me. He Rudely says “do you regret your decision already”
With that I respond “no I’m very happy with my decision” as a new salesman walks up, greets me properly and I end up buying the car from him.
You see these salesmen work on commission and I wasn’t going to help anyone out who wouldn’t even give me the time of day.
