we slept on her roof once under the stars one summer in Lower East Side. Telling each other how we would be friends forwver.

she was herself. she did not lie. She use to be a semi pro gymnast but scoliosis got in the way. Always in and out of some type of rehab and ultimately became clean.

fanny was the funniest girl. She was also very clever. every liked her. She was the girl that everyone wanted to be around. she sat in the front at math class and cracked jokes. i sat in the back and struggled to understand basic equations.

she stayed out late and had the best stories.

everyone thought we were doing coke but we had never touched it. We just drank and wanted to have a good time. Drugs werent our thing back then. Biarritz was more weed than anything else

Erica. My Brothers best friend and our neighbor when we moved to East Moriches. Erica owned a yellow Jeep. She was effortlessly cool, her own person with good style and witty comebacks. She‘s a teacher now. We still talk.

I think we were in Bayonne. I had ran into him and his friends. They were the cool skater kids. Philip was always better than me without trying. He had ”cool” friends, he surfed better, made better grades, everyone liked him. In a way I was always a little jealous of him.

But proud at the same time.
