yep! I like it!
Just checking in to say I haven’t been around much because Dragon Age aaaaaahhhh! I spent 3 days powering through the entirety of Dragon Age 2, so that I could pick up DA:I and start that knowing what’s going on. I’m enjoying it immensely, even though I had to play as a human instead of qunari because Bioware still hasn’t figure out how to do nice hair?! (Seriously, between the DA and Mass Effect series, you think they’d get it figured out.) On the bright side, my mage is a complete bad-ass and I love her.
I really have tried to answer as much as my inbox as possible, but the quantity of Blender-related questions I’ve been hit with the last couple of weeks is monstrous and there’s only so much I can handle in one sitting. I’ll try to get back to the rest of you soon.
In the meantime, I hope you guys had a fantastic Thanksgiving! Mine was last month so nyeeeeh y’all are late to the party! ;) ;)
Ciao for now~
it’s a…lovely day.
Do you ever think maybe it’s not just a nervous habit, but instead Cullen comforting himself from the effects of lyrium. He always hears it - a sort of whispering in his ear. The lyrium… it sings, sometimes creating a ringing sensation that makes him all but cringe as he rubs his neck to hide the fact that he wants to cover his ear.
Everything is perfect, but for the ringing. Never mind that, never mind the sweat that’s begun to bead on the back of his neck. He looks to the inquisitor, studies her face, and finds there no recognition of his troubles. This lets him relax for a moment. He dares to hope that ghostly whispers — he hated to think of them that way, lest he gave them form, shape, importance — will leave him be for now.
"It’s, ah," he says, weakly. His mouth is more skilled than he makes it seem, though you’d never know that. The inquisitor smiles; perhaps she’s fond of his nervous habit. He presses on: "It’s a…"
It starts off as something as disarming as a tickle, tingling on the shell of his ear and moving downward, the softest whisper. He can’t make out the words now, thank the maker, but he knows its intent. He knows — and feels — its song well. A pang of desire hits him and causes his tongue to twitch. His mind feels fuzzy, there’s a low fire burning in his belly, a need. He brings his arm up to his ear slowly, trying to make the movement natural. What he wants to do his claw his earlobe, tug at it, bring one of his gloved fingers into the cavity and try to scrape, scrape, scrape the noise out. He wants to shake his head, as though the songs and the whispers will come tumbling out and as though he’ll rid himself of it forever. He wants to scream, badly.
He settles for brushing his fingers against his lower neck, wiping away some of the sweat. His head tilts downward, away from the heat of the sun, and he looks at the inquisitor. He feels as though he’s kept her waiting for a long time; in reality, these fits take just a few seconds. She’s still smiling, either ignoring his pain or unaware of it. He grabs his neck fully with his hand, as though to steady himself, and continues.
"It’s a lovely day."
