Just like the last analysis, i wanna get one huge take out the way before i begin

Is a huge masker
Ever since i started playing her more than a year ago and have therefore been subjected to her dialogue every weekend i noticed...
Theres a very distinct difference to me, specifically two different ways, in which she interacts with other toons
1- This is what ill be calling her gameshow persona, cause its rooted very deeply in trying to make herself seem like this popular competent .......well........gameshow host
And
2- Just regular ol vee, who is very noticeably much more insecure and awkward than her gameshow persona counterpart
Ill take two examples and expand further to show you what i mean
The interaction with:
1) The starters
And
2) Lets say flutter or connie
As you can see, vee is much more confident and quick to answer poppy and boxten, even being blunt in her answers to poppy, when shes acting like this, you'll notice shes very sarcastic, a huge know it all, and quick to reply.
But take that to another toon, in this case flutter and connie, and suddenly, she sounds like a defensive or nervous wreck
She's definitely masking the way she truly is when shes in that gameshow host persona, and the root cause of that is most definitely trying to look better than she actually feels, ill get on that later
its actually crazy food for thought for me, because it makes this poster have a lil deeper meaning:
Its not just "oh the customer is always right!" Employee hell, its more like vee once again, masking who she really is in order to hopefully gain more likeability (with the customers presumably)
And this hurt face too:
i like to think of it as a break in the mask, and it shows vee's one true desire in the grand scheme of things, to entertain the customers. (Vee version 2 ooOooOooOooO)
This can also show us why she has rivalries (or general disinterest, cause i dont believe the last two i mention to have a flat out rivalry with vee) with people who conflict with this idea of likeability.

Dandy, most easily noticeable, has a rivalry with vee in the most accurate use of the term, in their case, fighting to be more likeable than the other.
And something i think not many people notice is its subtly shown literally all over gardenview
In the cutouts:
(this isnt the only floor w it, and the placement here isnt coincidental, the cutout placements are almost always intentional, astro facing a certain toon, shelly being behind the rest or forgotten, and then this lol)
In vees popup:

Tisha- as someone who struggles with their self image fighting to be more likeable, you too, would be curious as to why this tissue box is ignoring you, especially if your insecurity was being replaced, like. Is. Is. Is it cause she thinks you're not good enough. This kids is how we spiral

There are lots of times shes offered to either do something, or let someone do something for her, which again, giving ASWELL AS RECIEVING, are both acts of this physical kindness, not just one way around, i put this in bold because i am gonna scream about some misinterpreted interactions later dw
But reel it in to when someone offers emotional or verbal kindness?

Never once have i seen her not try to downplay or just flat out smiling friends pim charlie style awkward up the conversation when there is even semblance of a toon caring for her wellbeing , and it can be seen in literally 70% of her interactions, when shes not using her gameshow host persona, i just don't have the energy to ss it all lol
Even when her handler, veronica , pet and reaffirmed her about the replacement, bro literally just went :
Receiving kindness in verbal or emotional forms is not something she is equipped for, and if you have ever watched any form of media containing a robot before, like maybe ever, you will notice that

The most built in and natural form of affection or kindness that comes to anything, living or even non living in our case, is physical, doing something for someone that can be viewed as helpful = you are being kind, is a concept most of us are born with
And we can see quite clearly in teagans interactions, that vee isnt very good at expressing kindness verbally or emotionally:

-here shes openly trying to start convo, and even clarifies that even if she doesn't like tea, she doesn't dislike teagan for a fact, which is something i think not many people get
Vee is just bad at words

She is physically not aware of the fact some people think she comes off as harsh, and is just not programmed to the kind squishy souls of this education centre
(which is also why she doesn't understand why tisha ignores her, vee doesn't think she acts rude at all, so tisha ignoring her comes out of nowhere for her)
Vee version one is unfortunately not a romeo she is just a robo
(another thing i think is kind of bittersweet here, vee has made it known she sees toons for their entire being, teagan being more than just a regular teacup, considering she herself dislikes when people only see her as her code, i think its kinda sweet and overlooked)

Vee shows kindness in her actions, is insecure about her self image, is bad at dealing with words of affirmation or deep emotions , and is blunt/harsh even if she doesnt mean to be.

This is all non biased, and for a second i just want you to forget that i ship shellvision, because i genuinely dont want to justify or imply that at all here, i dont care about proving it canon, because it never will be, so this is just an honest opinion of how i see this interaction
Many people gathered the "vee hates shelly!!!" memo from this interaction, which ever since i began this game, never made sense to me
Vee has been much blunter, or even harsher, to many other toons, but for some reason, this is the one she hates in many ppls eyes
I mean we have seen her straight up just tell teagan she doesnt gaf about tea at her tea parties, and then the very next sentence disprove the thought of disliking her
Now like i said, vee takes kindness at physical acts, at a surface level, and from how we've seen, she likes to try and strike up conversation or any means of breaking the ice when shes interacting with someone.
If she "hated" or even disliked shelly, she wouldn't be asking her to help her at all
I dont know about you but i wouldn't ask my enemy to help fed ex the back up with me bro
And trust me, this game will make it obvious when a toon dislikes someone, vee and dandy is what true hate or dislike looks like, not vee asking shelly to help her move a box lol
The reason this interaction leaves a bad taste on some people imo, may be not because its vee acting blunt/harsh, but because its shelly being heartbreakingly sad 😭 and a trend you may notice, is many interactions with shelly get misinterpretated as hate or dislike, simply because shelly just acts so pitiful sometimes (tangent for another day)
This is the norm of how vee speaks so far as we've seen, but seeing that type of conversation be directed towards the literal cheer bear cosplayer, who already has a history of being ignored, is definitely easy fuel to the fire, even if vee has objectively acted harsher to other toons
(I dont think any of the mains dislike eachother, none of them have interactions that imply that at ALL, they've all known eachother since they were kids, so treating eachother like childhood friends is more so what i would amount most of their interactions as, not dislike.)
(Sprout and vee care for astro, shelly and astro are friends, vee and sprout have more of that friend banter going on, sprout doesnt mind being with shelly either, pebble has been the goat since day one hes just perfect idek)
This interaction i only brought up to further elaborate on the point being that vee is not intentionally rude or harsh to anyone except for one toon, likely only on "serious" bad terms with dandy

The only difference is these two distinct qualities we see about her, that conflict heavily. Related to the two personas i told you about in the beginning, hence the conflict
One- her sentience
She has already made it clear she is much more than her code, likely because vee is not fully robot, but also somewhat a toon aswell, and wishes to be seen as more than just a piece of equipment that needs to entertain, literally the philosophy of sentience.
And two- her position in the cast
Vee is different to everyone in the sole way that she can be replaced anytime. They could make a version 2 that looks and talks the exact same way, but with better ai, and replace vee just like that, the same cannot be said for the other toons, no matter their popularity. This conflicts with the sentience part in a way that even though we see vee dislike being amounted to just her software, she has no choice but to take advantage of it in the hopes of being deemed competent enough to not get replaced.

just realized that gender is kinda like dandy’s world
there’s only two starters, but people can work to be whoever they want to be, and are allowed to change it if they want. They can use different skins, main multiple, anything they want.
this applies to a lot of videos games. Not just DW but it’s what got me thinking.
also I think it still works because new players dont know which starter to pick often so it’s kinda randomized, since someone could get poppy and not like being her, or Boxton and not like being him.
