I made an askblog
So, I made a Undertale/Deltarune askblog. It's about questions that approach the 4th wall or refer to the nature of Undertale/Deltarune as games. If you are interested in stuff like this, please check it out. I want people to interact with it.
It's @utdr-4th-wall-askblog.
yknow, some people talk about how. its maybe a weird play from Toby Fox to have undertale say "how dare you Play my videogame and want to see the content it has" but i do think its ultimately just. a part of how he makes games... that. well. he DOES obviously make said content with the intent that people can go see it and will probably want to. and i dont think he wants to say theyre bad for wanting to see it. but he also wants to yknow... make these worlds feel real. and thus comment on it. in universe, yes, you ARE kinda bad for wanting to see it. its not to belittle the player, as much as it is to say... hey, if this world IS real... you wouldnt treat it like a video game, would you? thats interesting. kinda fucked up from the characters perspectives, right?
i think its like. yeah. i get why some people think its cheap to just. call the player bad for simply experiencing more content... but the point of undertale is kinda. that its more real than a game. which, is interesting. the game wants you to engage with it in a unique way, suspending your disbelief even outside of the game. i mean heck DELTARUNE has a rule of No Lightner Merchandise. kris and susie arent characters you can own. they're people. and. maybe that type of thing is not for everyone, obviously. but i think its neat
i dunno. im not an UNDERTALE themes expert. but i think deltarunes weird route is interesting because its definitely also . content thats very much meant to be alluring... like a playground rumour.. secrets to entice you. to lure you in with curiosity, and to see how far you'll keep going. just like noelle loves glitches and secrets in games. and it gives you SO many opportunities to say 'no actually i dont wanna do this anymore' but you of course are going to keep moving forward. and its like, fucked up! but its. that morbid curiosity we all have. to see everything, even the things.. that arent so nice. its just in deltarune its a bit more reflected in the characters now, i think. and also i definitely 1000% think that the weird route is about like. hey, how do you face a seemingly unalterable fate/destiny in your future? brace yourself and face it head on... or brute force your way to break it. do you make your own freedom through choice or do you break free from the worlds confines?
at the end of it all i think Toby Fox just really wants you to take notice of how.. its YOUR curiosity getting you to the points you are. yeah, sure, you just wanna experience stuff like fighting sans and seeing what else there is. but thats. your curiosity. when you hold such a position OVER the world, in the more real world that we're in... obviously curiosity is a very. dangerous 'threat' to the world of undertale. but i cant see someone as obsessed with storytelling in games as toby fox... to actually be trying to say 'yeah you're fucked up for being curious about what else there is'

The Roaring Knight? Heh. More like the RAWRing Knight (X3).
If Mr. (Ant Tony) Tenna as a human/lightener is Steve Harvey of “Family Feud” fame, then would Spamton G Spamton be Jeff Foxworthy from “Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?”
