CARBONCOPY PRESENTS JOE & SAM.....
We are Sam Turpin and Joe Turpin. We were born on Saturday ,September 2,1995 to esteemed photographer, Gisèle Wulfsohn. On that week, in the US, people were listening to Michael Jackson’s “You are not alone” ..that was the case for us. We had each other. We went to most places together, so as long as people knew Sam & Joe were both there, that’s what mattered. Only a few brave souls joked about getting us mixed up and stuff. One of our mother’s friends even took it as far as calling us different names, like names she would have given us! That got to us just a little bit. We are not sure how our friends could tell us apart but they always knew… think it was the height… Sam was taller but now it is the other way around.. From an early age, our clothes were different.., different colors. I(Joe) was always in more warm colors and Sam was in cool colors. That is how we could tell each other apart in photographs most times. Now since being back in Johannesburg when I'm out (Joe), a lot of people think I'm Sam but that is only because of the success of the music he is doing, people think "yo its Sam Turpin!" and that’s because I'm not in his songs or anything. I'm sure if Sam was to step to the spots I've been at in Bordeaux, Oxford and London people would think it's Joe. The best way is just to take them to the side and tell them politely I'm his twin brother but I’ll tell him you said hi! It is crazy how people never believe it when you say “oh I have a twin brother “ they think you're lying to them or messing with them and when they see us together, it is amazing the curiosity and the questions we would get like "have you swopped girlfriends…maybe switch classes..?" The idea is fun but not for us…we like being individuals and always try to do the right thing. The fascination with twins is interesting; some people think we are weird some think we are evil etc. In WW II, the Nazis did a lot of experiments on twins without consent and across cultures there is superstition and sometimes misconception. Twins gotta be seen as SPECIAL!!!
This shoot with CarbonCopy is the first thing we have done together since we've been on the scene, that focuses on both of us at once.

Types of twins
Everyday is a journey of self discovery #Twins #carboncopytwins
Itumeleng & Tumi #fraternaltwins Fraternal twins are just like any other brothers and sisters in the same family who share the same biological parents. The only difference is that they just happen to have been conceived in the same month and be sharing their mother’s uterus during the same pregnancy.Other names for fraternal twins are non-identical or dizygotic twins as they form from two completely separate eggs and sperm. This is different to identical or monozygotic (one egg) twins who form as a result of one fertilised egg splitting into two identical little people.Fraternal twins tend to run in families – the tendency for hyper ovulation during the same menstrual cycle is a genetic trait. For women whose grandmothers, mothers, aunts or sisters had fraternal twins, the likelihood for them to have fraternal twins is higher. Importantly, if a mother is a fraternal twin, she is more likely to have fraternal twins herself.Fraternal twins share around 50% of their genetic makeup.

secret language of twins
Idioglossia-a secret language between twins
Cryptophasia" is a phenomenon of a language developed by twins (identical or fraternal) that only the two children could understand.[1] The word has its roots from crypto meaning secret and phasia meaning speech. Cryptophasia also includes mirrored actions like twin-walk and identical mannerisms. Little is known about cryptophasia."

Fingerprints
Ever wondered if identical twins have the same fingerprints?Turns out, identical twins do not have identical fingerprints. That's because genes don't tell the whole story of the ripples covering our fingertips; rather, those ridges are influenced by random stresses experienced in the womb. Even a slightly different umbilical cord length changes your paw print.
