The smell of the lilac flowers were a blissful aroma, the grass sway side to side like dancing ballerinas and the sky was a beautiful blue with clouds here and there, the sight was amazing. It was like being in a world of an artist’s art; their safe haven. Birds were flying around in what seemed to be playful actions as they sung their melodies to each other. The sound of a waterfall not to far could be heard in the distance and it sounded serene. You sigh with a small smile on your face as the tall grass brushed against your fingertips. You felt like could live here forever and not ever have a worry of the storm that was occurring around you. You laughed in delight as the birds began to fly around you and for a moment, you felt like a little girl again.
A chuckle ruins your short fanasty that causes you to turn and see the young, but dangerous man in front of you and suddenly, the smile that was once on your face is no longer there. His smile also disappears as he realizes what he caused. You two stare at each other for a while and it felt like you were drowning in his beautiful golden orbs. His cold, smooth pale skin made you crave to feel it connect with your skin; to feel his body press against your own. Immediately you look away in shame realizing of the thoughts you were having towards your sister’s boyfriend. You were thankful that he couldn’t read your thoughts because if he just knew of the things you thought of him, you had no doubt in your mind that he will never look at you the same.
However, Edward became frustrated by the lack of his ability to read your mind. He wished – no he needed to read your thoughts and he had no clue why. It may be because you appear so enchanting to him and have the ability to leave him wondering in a daze. He knew that if he will ever be able to read your mind, it will solve the puzzle to the bittersweet misery he felt on a daily basis whenever he was around you. And that is what terrifies him. He shouldn’t feel like this towards his la tua cantante’s sister. It was wrong and a sinful thing. The only thing he can make sense out of the way he felt the way he did towards you would be because he can not read your mind. Then again, he can’t read Bella’s either. So why was he feeling like this towards you? Unless? — No. Edward instantly shakes that thought out of his mind and puts his attention back on you and from the way you avoided his eye contact made him once again exhale in frustration. “I wish I can read your mind.”
You snap your head towards where he stood, surprised by his words. You gulp and look down to the lilac flowers that brushed against your legs, and in that moment, it became the most interesting thing to see. Edward’s actions, however, causes you to look down at him as he no longer stood on his two feet, but now sitting on the grass. And the sight was exquisite. The lilac flowers and the green grass made him stand out as sunlight embraces his skin for a moment, causing him to shine like magnificent diamonds. It made you gasp silently at the alluring sight and you almost, just by a slight second, stretch your arm out to touch his face, but you fought against the temptation and clenched your hands into fists.
Edward notices the gesture and he himself almost reached out to open your palms because something so delicate shouldn’t feel distress. Before Edward could ask for you to sit next to him, you sit down in front of him with your body facing his direction and began to twirl the grass on fingers. At first it was awkward between you too and it was one thing that you couldn’t stand. You didn’t have that in common with Bella and Charile. Being in an awkward situation made you feel like you were under a microscope being supervised by people. “Want to explain to me why I am here with you and not Bella?” You ask still not looking up from staring at the flower in your hand.
Edward opens his mouth to speak but he pauses and he asks himself, why are you here? And then the cold reality sinks in. He had asked for you to come because he wanted to say goodbye. And the guilt of hearing Bella’s voice cry out for him in panic from the past early moments, breaks him because here he is betraying Bella by giving her sister a much better goodbye. Edward gulps as he inhales and exhales, and after some war with his mind, Edward wraps his cold hands around your warm ones. The gesture suprises you by far but before you can say anything, Edward speaks out first and his next words begin to create panic within you. “I am leaving. My family and I are going to go away so that Bella and you can have a better life.” Edward doesn’t look up and that alone makes you grow with anger.
“So just like that?” Edward looks up at instantly, shocked by your tone of voice and the look you held didn’t help him at all. Immediately you pull away from him and stand up, walking away with rapid speed. Edward appears in front of you, causing you to step aside and try to walk away but his strong hold stops you. He didn’t need to read your mind to tell that there was a storm brewing into a hurricane. He however, could see the emotions swirling in your (e/c) orbs and it was agony.
Before he can say anything, you push him away fiercely. “Just go." Edward felt his dead heart clench with angst but it doesn’t stop him from pressing a gentle kiss on your forehead. He pushes himself away, exhaling a deep, shuddering breath and runs away with inhuman speed, and all while hearing your cries echo in the trees; following him like a shadow.
