Does the look of the sign change your opinion?
Homeless signs have become a competition with eachother. As i scroll through the pages of google and look throughout my neighborhood i see many duplicates of eachother. It's a competition on who can get your money- or whos sign you see first.
A lot of people tend to wonder where the cardboard and marker came from, thinking that means they have money. But they only have as much as you give them, why have them waste food money to beg for your help? Why do these images not effect us enough to make us give as an instinct.
How are we consumers of persuasive messages, doesn't that emply we actually read it?
A different kind of sign.. Are cities really beginning to put these up?
Would you take the time to read this, or just keep walking by?
Sometimes you dont know whether to laugh, or help. Maybe we should automatically do both.
What role do these images play? A sense of reality into the world we would rather shame?
A lot of homeless people recieve more money when the signs are funny and more appleasing than when it begs for help. I wonder why as Americans we react more to the facade of happy homeless over the reality of a darkened future.
