Danielle nodded her head gently. “That’s reassuring. Mine doesn’t either.” She took a moment to lift up her shirt a little to reveal her stomach. And there was a nice, averaged sized scar near where her abdomen was.

Annie looked up just in time for Danielle lift her shirt and at first, she got the wrong idea at what she was doing before her eyes focused on the scar. “Where’d you get that?” She asked, sitting up a little straighter as her eyes flickered from the scar up to Danielle’s face.

“Oh shush you, it’s you I don’t deserve,” She smiled, combing her fingers through his hair with a small sigh. “You flatter me too much, I’m beginning to think you’re being blinded by your own little fantasies.” Her tone was half joking, half serious but Annie didn’t give him time to respond as she kissed him before he even opened his mouth.

Gently, Aleksy moved behind his wife to coil his arms about her, kissing into the nape of her neck delicately. “Have I ever told you what a beautiful, smart, kindhearted woman I think you are?” He whispered, stroking his hands over her stomach a bit. “And that I love you more than anything this world could ever give me?”

Annie didn’t know what she meant at first but then she remembered she had rolled up her sleeves without thinking, the heat had beginning to get to her, and now the other could clearly see the burns and scars that marred her skin. 

“It’s uh…it’s nothing,” She told her quickly through gritted teeth as she hastily yanked down her sleeves, her face turning a light pink. “Childhood incident, it’s…nothing.” Well, the burns were the result of a ‘childhood incident’…the scars were a different matter entirely.
