on how to get free (text)books
sometimes I see outdated posts that are super long that still get reblogged so here’s a short and sweet guide with the 5 links you’ll ever need:
mobilism - biggest selection of fiction (every single fiction genre is accounted for, and you can request books if they aren’t there. there’s also medical textbooks and magazines.) just type what you want in the search bar.
bookzz - 2.5 million books and 38 million articles; I’ve found obscure historical books that doesn’t exist on other websites. avxhome - really good for nonfiction books, from architecture to politics. some older links has expired though. custom ebook search engine - goes through ok sites like ebookee but honestly I’m sort of leery at the torrents you can find so use at your own risk (.epub and pdf files are comparatively safer imo) lib.gen.ru - sometimes you can’t access the us version bc proxy blockers so here’s the russian version (everything is in english). they’re mostly texbooks - I searched “historical” and 20k files came up. loads of AP prep books! **make sure when you download books via a filehoster (this only applies to mobilism and avxhome) please remove the checkmark from the box that reads “download via accelerator”! also a good way to tell if it’s an ad or the real link generator is by click-and-drag the icon. if it moves, it’s an ad. most of the time you want the less flashy icon** these sites aren’t legal. if you can buy/rent the books, please do. but if you live in a country where the official language is not english so you can’t find books in the library/bookshop, or you desperately need them without filing for bankruptcy, I hope this can help you!
