Seven years ago today I brought Izzy home from the shelter. I fell in love with her when she crawled into my lap and wouldn't leave during our first meeting, and she has been that cuddly and loving ever since. I would not have survived without her. Shelter estimated her age as 3 back then, which makes her 10 today. I am home recovering from surgery (sinus surgery, went well yesterday, no pain so far), and Izzy is working hard to help. Such a difficult life for a dog. By the way, coming off the ventilator after only a few hours was terrible. My neck, mouth, and throat still hurt while the actual place they did surgery does not. I can't even imagine how terrible it would be for something like Covid-19.
