It was an early rainy morning in Iowa. I had stopped to fill up my tank at a gas station, and across the way through the pouring rain was this little white structure parallel to a dirt and gravel road which ran along the railroad. It was a cold rain in late spring, cold enough for a sweater. I wrapped my jacket around myself and took this before running back to the warmth and shelter of my car. Of all the photos I took of my trip to the southwest and back, this one strikes me the most in its simplicity and beauty. There’s just something about overlooked small towns in the Midwest that draws me in.
