Out of curiosity, you mentioned the age difference on shinhwa members dating.. What kind of age difference would you find creepy and why? :)

I guess it’s less the age difference and more the maturity of the girl. I just hope the girl is at least in her mid-20s because most people have matured by then and can make rational decisions. There are always exceptions though so you never know…

I mostly just don’t want them to get accused of cradle-robbing and looking like ahjussis next to some teenage girl. Like H.O.T’s Tony and Hyeri. I don’t know if this is true but he supposedly used to pick up Hyeri for dates from her high school. No … Just NO.

Hello..What do you think about the rumour of hyesung girlfriend currently circulated all over internet?

Which rumors, anon? I haven’t really seen much buzz about dating rumors for him. At least on the international fan side. Then again, I have been a little out of the loop so I could have missed something.

To be honest, there are always dating rumors about the Shinhwa members. I personally don’t really care who they date as long as they are happy (….and the age difference isn’t too creepy. Lol).

Hi Carmendove. I really hope things are getting better for you, so you can feed us our daily Shinhwa frenzy. So, my question do you know which Shinhwa songs that involved tumbling/backflip in their dance?

Yes, things are slowly getting better! But my job is super hectic and I work overtime most days so I’m not sure when I’ll be able to do time-consuming things like making gifs again :( I miss the SHCJ family on tumblr!

To answer your question, I can’t remember any songs/perfs that included backflips in the choreography. Except for Hyesung’s Taekwondo spin kick during Eusha Eusha performances. They usually only threw in acrobatics for special performances, dance battles, variety shows or for MVs like “Hey Come On” and “2gether 4ever” (which shows them practicing). I have a vague memory of a performance where Minwoo (and maybe Junjin too) did flips on stage but I can’t for the life of me remember which song it was for! Maybe I’m just getting old….

Does anyone else remember any Shinhwa songs/perfs with tumbling?

Hi Carmendove! I read that you are going through some difficult times in your personal life. I sincerely hope you are doing well, and wish you all the best. I feel this is probably a bad time to ask, but is there something going on with MBC (similar to SBS previously)? For this round of promotions, their first MuCore was very barebone (only one stage, no interview etc) and haven't been back on Radio Star/no MuCore this week. MBC has lifted the ban, so why the beef? To answer your question, I honestly have no idea. I think it was a shock for all of us that they suddenly weren’t in the MuCore lineup. Unless someone behind the scenes spills the beans, I doubt we’ll know what happened. These broadcasting stations have a history of being really petty and childish so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a reaction to something stupid like Shinhwa turning down an offer to appear on some MBC show they didn’t want to do (that’s why SBS blacklisted them before). But that’s just a guess and I don’t think anyone knows the truth right now.

If any of my followers know anything about this, please fill us in!

EDIT: lisatra brought up a good point that they may be skipping MuCore since they've started preparations for the concert.

I’m sorry I haven’t been around much to fangirl over Shinhwa’s comeback. I love the song/MV but that’s all I’ve checked out yet. I’ve been going through some tough stuff in my personal life and I just wasn’t in the right mood. I didn’t want that negativeness to taint my excitement for Shinhwa so I’m going to wait to catch up on the performances and album once my mood improves.

I hope all of you are enjoying this comeback though! It looks awesome from the bits and pieces I’ve seen :) Go Shinhwa!!!!!

Hi anon, I’ve been staying out of fandom drama so I only know the basics of what happened. When Shinhwa was doing the pre-recording for their Inkigayo 800th episode special, fans signed up to be in the audience during the recording. I think only 400 SHCJ were allowed in? Fans claim that the ShinCom staff member that helped choose who got to attend is a SHCJ who picked only her close friends instead of at random or first-come-first serve. Basically, they think the method for choosing fans was unfair.

ShinCom put out a statement saying “Prior to the official activities of Shinhwa’s 12th album and Shinhwa Changjo 10th, we would like to apologize for the inconvenience and worry caused to the fans over Shinhwa’s appearance in Inkigayo’s 800th episode special. We will take into account the fans’ suggestion and for Shinhwa Changjo 10th’s official activities, that will start from Shinhwa’s comeback, we will be putting a professional security team in place to carry out on-site operations and will work to improve on various areas, including application for broadcast participation.” (credit: malpabo)

Many Korean SHCJ sent angry tweets to ShinCom over this and the apology didn’t calm them down. Some of them even blamed Eric & Minwoo directly because they are the ShinCom CEOs. This drama trickled over into the international fandom as some fans argued that the tweets were too harsh and blaming RicMin was wrong. Others sided with the kSHCJ and the back and forth went on.

That’s as much as I know because I don’t really go on twitter anymore. If I got anything wrong, please feel free to correct me.

For Shinhwa song TOP, in the lyrics I see the n-word and I hear it in the album, but I never heard in their perfs. Like I've watched perfs when they first released it and perfs throughout the year but it doesnt appear and also in certain perfs they have other lyrics like maybe Eric wrote some new raps for it.. Do you know the story behind this and if I'm making sense to you..? haha Sorry

Yes, Eric has changed the lyrics for that part or just left out that word many times. There's no big story behind it so I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, anon.

Other times he does say the word during their perfs, which is incredibly disappointing and frustrating. I have no idea why it's removed sometimes but said other times. It baffles me.

Hi carmendove. How are you? I bet you're fine. We're all fine since these boys are finally coming out of their nest! Finally! I'm totally hype! Sorry. So, as my own way of countdown, I start a rerun of all my fav shinbang eps + old vid and it came to me that it was very evidence of Eric and Andy relation. It seems like Eric have extra attention towards Andy. Like a caring mum. However, in their recent videos, I can't feel that vibe anymore. Did you notice? Any of you? I'm just curious & concern.

Hi anon! I’m not sure if I missed a particular recent video that you may be thinking of but I haven’t really gotten that impression yet. There’s only been very short clips released so far and they’re all very formal (announcements, information, etc) so I don’t think we have enough footage to make that assessment. I’m fully confident we’ll see more Eric/Andy love once we get behind-the-scenes footage, variety shows, or anything where they’re just hanging out naturally.

On sort of a side note, I actually felt relieved after seeing Andy in the BTS photos from China because he finally seems genuinely happy. During his first few appearances (like on Dancing 9), he seemed to be holding himself back, either out of guilt/apology or not wanting to look too carefree. I feel like the members respected that and didn’t try to push him too soon. So maybe that’s the vibe you were getting? But luckily, he slowly seems to be relaxing and enjoying himself more now that he’s around his hyungs again.

All my old mvs just got wiped and the links in the comm are dead. ;_; I love your subs and if they are still available I'd be v. grateful if you could tell me where i can dl them!

Sorry anon, but there were just too many subbed videos for me to re-upload all of them. Plus, there is nowhere to upload them that would be guaranteed to still be there in a few months or years. Uploading sites are constantly being taken down, deleting files or changing policies :(

If there are a few special videos you really want, I can check to see if I still have them but I had to delete a bunch to make space so there’s no guarantee.

this might be a dumb question but why/how did andy's voice get deeper after military service? i mean it's not puberty but he just probably changed his style of speaking?? been curious... thanks..

It has a little bit to do with changing his speaking style but I think most of it is caused by his smoking habit :/ Smoking causes damage to the vocal cords which can make a voice deeper and raspier over time.

I'm not going to say much about this whole fiasco involving SHCJ membership only being open to Korean fans except to point at the chart below:

A few of these groups might have changed things since this chart was created but the fact remains that the VAST majority of Kpop groups do not allow international fans to join their fanclubs. Why? Because it's either too complicated or too expensive.

Shinhwa has JUST finally put together the resources and manpower to reopen their Korean fanclub after SEVEN years! Let's give them a little time to get that figured out before we start demanding stuff even big companies like SM & YG aren't doing for their most popular groups yet.

Also, please remember that being in the "official" fanclub is not the only way to be a fan….
