He wouldn't even pretend that the stench of blood is easy to ignore. It's enough to build up a fiery burn. But rather than turn it into hunger, Mark pulls at the opposite side of the spectrum of emotions and begins to radiate anger. Wincing without pain, he crouches at her side and quickly gathers her into his arms. It's one of the few times he finds the need to compel her, but its justified given the circumstances. "Sleep now. and dream of your vengeance. " Because he would see it through.

She couldn’t tell you what happened. One man showed up and then another on her way home from work that day, you can only imagine what they tried to do to her and what they accomplished doing to her. Sadly, her scooter wasn’t working that day which led her to walking to work and back. Funny how things happen so suddenly all because one thing has changed that day. If only the scooter had been fixed, if only she had taken the bus or taxi. If only.

She didn’t though and that’s what got her in trouble. She didn’t expect to live from the attack, but when she felt Mark’s arms wrap around her cold form she knew she was safe. It’s funny how her entire being was ready to just go….but another second later and her body is fighting for it’s life because of one single person that’s there.

He was there, her Mark. The man she loves and hasn’t even told him a single word of that yet. He doesn’t need to know, right? He’s not looking for love here or a relationship with her. She’s accepted that and will take whatever she can get from him. She curled up into his arms, allowing herself to relax…

Even if her side is burning.

She’s in bed, he’s telling her to sleep, but she doesn’t want to sleep. It hurts too much to sleep, but she didn’t even argue. She actually listened which was weird to think about—though she really didn’t think much about it. She just listened. Rose fell asleep just like she had been compelled to by him and she didn’t wake from it throughout the night.

Jay, Eduardo, and the rest of her group saw the guy talking to her. They had thought about making their presence known, but Aubree was a big girl, and she was out in the open. If she gave them a certain look, her brother would be over there in a flash.

“Isn’t that why you’re here?” She was quick to correct herself, throwing back her hair, which allowed her thick, red strands to fall behind her shoulder. Lifting her head, she leveled her head. “– For the race?”

“Unless there is another form of entertainment I might be missing?” Cheekiness was in his nature, and a hard habit to control when it wasn’t clipped from the beginning. And that he knew it strummed a chord of amusement in his new acquaintance he wasn’t even going to try to hold it back. “Whether you're racing or not, can’t hurt to scope out the competition.” But even without being a part of one, he could still appreciate the start. “Besides, you’ll be at kickoff won’t you? That seems like good enough initiative to watch.”

She’s still calm, still staring down at her lap. For some reason she couldn’t bring herself to look at him for too long, she knows for a fact what that does to her insides. Even though her heart isn’t beating anymore, she can still remember that feeling she would get whenever Mark was in her presence.

Despite hearing the fino the ty in her words, the older being couldn't bring himself to accept that was it. Memories a hundred years old played in tangent to the present, and he could remember a time when she once said the same words. Forgiveness then had been more of a lighter subject issued on both parts when something small struck a nerve. There were times he would even scold her for making such a claim only to cave in the near future when it meant that he would cease by her side. But she had grown since then, and no longer seemed to need his mundane presence. Instead they had switched roles and now he was the one close to suffering to a loss.

He didn’t have the emotions to put into words, some locked away too tight to even budge the handle. In the beginning he saw himself being alone, and it seemed that it would end that way. “Then is this closure?”
