“Hear who dying? Can you give me names?” She asked in a hushed tone, her eyes wide as she glanced around to make sure no one was listening in on their conversation. “If that’s the case, we need to act fast. They’re not dead yet, we can still save them.”

“People, so many people. They’re everywhere, I can’t tell who. There’s too many voices.” She started, taking deep breaths to try and stay calm, but fear was slowly taking over. “We need to get out, can you get us out?”

The girl was right, everything was locked and in almost seemed like a hopeless idea but at the moment that was all they really had. Giving a small nod, Leila agreed: “I know. I know we are and that is truthfully terrifying. But anywhere in the mansion is going to be safer than right here. At least it will be further away from the pentagram and in some what safer from the fighting.”

Caro really wanted to believe her, and she tried. But her fear, combined with all those voices, was stronger and took over. “Maybe we’ll be safer for a while but... but what happens once there’s no one left here?” She asked, motioning to the people around them. “They’ll spread, they’ll invade the whole place. We’ll never be safe.” They had to get out, but the only way she could see it happening was by tearing the place down.

Looking at the popped up message, Carolina knew she was not going to tell anyone one of her dirty fantasies. She’d keep those for when she’d be in an actual relationship. So she unlocked her phone and picked someone she wouldn’t mind telling such a thing. “Liam, this is going to sound weird, but I’m pregnant.” She typed before hitting the send button.

Despite everything that had happened with the ball, Carolina was still upset about losing Rachel’s bracelet a while ago already. She had looked everywhere, but it was useless, it was gone now. She was already quite down, but it just turned worst when she felt her. “I’m sorry, Rachel. I lost it.” If Gabe was there, he’d probably think she was really going crazy, talking to the emptiness. But Caro just knew Rachel was there, somewhere.

What a few couple of crazy days for a ghost! One day Ophelia had been questioning her existence, the next she received the answer to all her woes in the form of an interaction with her killer, and now the town was filled with roaming demons. At first she didn’t know what to think of said portal to the underworld and all the creatures that had come out of it, but soon their presence gave her an idea, she was going to possess someone. How? She wasn’t sure, but surely someone out there knew.

She had found herself at the park again since it was her go to place, but this time she could be seen, and it not longer bothered her that the animals sensed her ghostly presence. Instead of trying to blend in she went over to the water fountain and sat there, running her finger through the water, finally enjoying how it felt to have it run over her cold fingers rather than through them. She had her back to most people but sensing someone sit behind her made her jump and in her overreaction she ended up splashing them. “You really shouldn’t sneak up on people like that,” she said with an amused smile, knowing that was a stupid thing for a ghost to say. “I hope I didn’t ruin your outfit much… but now that I have your attention, could I ask you something?”

Since the whole demon thing, Carolina had surprisingly tried to keep to herself most of the time. She had already run into one, which seriously tried to kill her, she didn’t want to risk it again. But it was a beautiful day, and she figured she could risk herself out for once. It was the middle of the day, so what were the chances anyone would try to attack her? She had only been out for a few minutes, however, and was already lost. Luckily, her instincts lead her to a nice park. Or maybe not so luckily. She had barely even sat on the edge of the fountain and already she felt water splashing all over her. “It’s fine.” She replied, turning towards the girl. “At least I’m not a mermaid.” She tried to joke, before her head softly tilted to the side. “Sure, what is it?”

“It’s okay- it’s fine you just-” Leila spoke with a small shake of her head as she glanced around her shoulder to look at their surroundings. Watching something so beautiful burned and turned into a nightmare. A lump in her throat, the blonde tried to swallow it down with no use. “You should- you should try to get to the entrance way if you can or to the stairs.” 

Caro nodded at the other girl’s words, her eyes fixed on her. As a banshee, it was already hard for her to hear the souls of the most unfortunate, if she had to see the horror, it would just make everything a lot worse. “What’s the use? Everything’s locked.” She finally said, her own words making her shiver. “We’re stuck in here.”

The Demon in Daniel watched her as she flailed and jerked like a bird with a broken wing and laughed wholeheartedly, captivated by the fear and the crocodile tears in her eyes. He had always believed when Hell took his soul it had made him the perfect specimen, and it pleased him to know, he could take everything he wanted now..out of anybody in that room. “You know, it’s been a long time since I’ve been able to do this,” he sneered, “And I’m going to enjoy every bit of it…” Waiting until she was close, he grabbed her by the neck and brought her real close, sniffing at the perfume in her hair before whispering. “I can tell my vessel does not like this, but I think you’re perfect for what I have in store –just a little bit of mindless torture, what do you say?”

Usually, Carolina would try to see the best in everything, but all seemed so hopeless in this situation. Yet she still tried to break free from whatever was holding her. But her struggles were soon cut short when she felt his hand on her throat. Her own hands grabbed his arm, desperately trying to loosen his grip a little, but it was rather useless. Her eyes focused on him in horror, her whole body shaking out of fear at his words. “Please...” It was a pathetic attempt, but she was hoping it could somehow get to the real Daniel and give him some strength to fight back the demon.

Zara for the most part was still unaware of the supernatural beings of the town so tonight was an eye opener for her. More than slightly drunk and unable to believe her eyes, she had pressed herself against the wall hoping it was all a dream. Jumping at the flipped table she took in the destruction before her, eyes landing on Carolina. “A what now?” She looked at her bewildered. 

Caro had to take a second look around, just to make sure there was no danger around. Seeing how there was nothing strange around, she brought her attention back to the other girl. “A banshee.” She stated again, standing up. It was rather useless to stay on the ground now that the table was gone. “Don’t tell me you don’t know what a banshee is, not when you live in this town.”

“Deep breaths.” Rosalie said, looking at the other girl as she did her best to hide just how terrified she really felt. “We will get out of this, but I need you to stay calm and help me. We have to work together to get out of this.”

“I know, I know.” She repeated, trying to calm her breathing. But this was almost worst than the crash with Rachel. “But I don’t think we can all leave this place alive. I can hear them dying.” She said, lowering her voice at her last words.

Daniel had no recollection of when any of it had taken place. He had been fighting demons left and right, just like the rest only a couple of hours ago, and then, lights out. Nothing. The demon who possessed him had taken care of everything, pushing him into a dark and empty corner of his mind while he got the first taste of what the real world felt like. And now, there he was. (The before) Daniel, smirking at some helpless girl while he poured himself a drink and used his power to elevate her from the ground. “I bet it does, and it’s about to get a hell of a lot worse. You have no idea,” he chuckled, dragging her closer and closer. “What’s it with this town, huh? So many supernatural in it, unlike this vessel.”

It barely took her a split second before she realized he wasn’t exactly human. At least not in this instant. While she didn’t know him that much, Caro knew he wasn’t able to do such things. No one in this town could, and the truth terrified her. “Let me go.” She hushed in fear when she felt herself lift from the ground. Instinctively, she tried to fight it back, but she wasn’t fighting anything, if only the air around her. No one was holding her, not physically at last. “Let me go, I haven’t done anything!” She insisted again, although this time, she was feeling some tears forming. Right this instant, with the feeling of people dying around her, Carolina really felt like her own end was growing closer with every inch he pulled her closer to him.

“This was not supposed to happen, I swear! Stay calm, we’ll get you all out safe soon, I promise.”

Spotting Rosalie, Caro inched closer, trying to find someone that could make her feel safer. “As much as I like being optimistic, I don’t know how we can get out of this one.” She said, hoping none of the frightened people heard her.

The scene was one of turmoil and chaos, screams piercing the air like daggers through air as they filled the room. It felt like she couldn’t breath, backing up to the edge of the room Leila swallowed thickly as terror unfolded. Her hands shaking as they left a frosted touch to the wall behind her. “..voi luoja” The blonde muttered under her breath her eyes filled with worry. Though as a demon edged menacingly forward, she moved on instinct pushing the person in harms way behind her. Using her wind and ice magic to blow the venomous creature harshly backwards until they were pinned halfway up the wall before ice crystallized around them leaving it frozen in place. Though she wasn’t sure how long it was last it was better than nothing. Her voice shaky the blonde turned to the other as she asked with concern; “Are you okay?”

Carolina had been hiding under tables for the most part. But they were mostly all flipped over or broken, and useless for hiding now. So she was trying to subtly find an escape route out - she was unsuccessful so far -, and hadn’t noticed the demon that was creeping closer. She couldn’t even see what was happening, being pushed back and then seconds later, the monster was pinned to the wall. Caro had to stare at it in silence for a moment, trying to figure out how such a thing could happen and ruin the magical night they had planned. “I- I am now.” She replied to the other blonde, managing the faintest of smiles. “Thank you.”

“I’ll agree. The carnival recently was nice, until it took that turn at the end.”

“Oh, I wouldn’t know, I was out of town. But I heard, and I can assure we haven’t got anything like that planned.”

“I don’t, but you’d be surprised the things people do these days when other’s offend them, as if my costume choice is causing anyone harm. I guess I’ll just have to squeeze the truth out of Cade then.” 

“No, actually I wouldn’t. And whatever they do, I’ll just keep living like I always did. But good luck with Cade. We all took this very serious oath, we’re not spilling anything.”

Caro had never really been a fighter type, way more of the lover one. So when the demons first appeared, her reaction was to hide, and she wanted to as quickly as she could. So she ducked under the nearest table and hoped she could wait for things to settle. But the blonde had never really been a lucky girl, which was proven when the table was flipped over. Horrified eyes looked up, settling on the nearest person she saw. "Being a banshee sucks." She commented.
