Caroline Antas just checked into Echo. They are 21 years old and I hear they’re passionate and funny but they can also be stubborn and confrontational. They’re paired with a vampire named Teddy Darlington. I sincerely hope they’re ready for this responsibility.

“Can’t be coming home to you crying every day - if my heart worked you’d be breaking it.” Teddy chuckled gently but his did work, he just never actually liked acknowledging his emotions it always lead to a big mess that he didn’t want to deal with. “You got any questions you want to get of your chest whilst you’re already sad?”

“Sorry.” Caroline mumbled, reaching up to wipe her tears away to calm herself a little bit. Even just being close to him helped as well. “Did it hurt?” Caroline asked after a beat, her voice small like she didn’t really want to know the answer.”

“I haven’t been that boy in a very long time Care - you don’t need to worry about me.” Teddy assured her, he never regretted his service, he’d wanted to join, to do his part, he’d just never asked for the life long side affects he’d been dealt at the same time. “Well how about you just ask me questions and we avoid any more tears huh?” Teddy laughed gently reaching to wipe her tears away. 

Caroline stammered, but in the end clamped her mouth shut and nodded. He’d been hurt so badly, how could he have recovered from that? The brunette nodded and sniffled as he wiped her tears away again, his cold hands feeling much better against her hot cheeks. “I think I can do that.”

“They are made with some form of metal that I am way too loopy to remember the name of. I need to just get on my sweats or get in the shower or something and just sleep this off,” Phoebe added, shaking her head. “He’s tired of those motherfucking snakes on that motherfucking plane and I will bet you that he would say that.”

Caroline snorted. “Aluminum, dear. Like that cans.” It was a piece of useless trivia Caroline had memorized when her brother had broken his ankle. “That sounds lovely. I might join you.” She giggled. The driver fell into giggles at that. “He’d probably ask why people keep saying that.”

“I will be your enforcer. If someone says something, I’ll whack them with my crutch,” Phoebe declared. Tea was the nectar of the gods. How could she not protect it? “I think his eyelid will be closed and we won’t see anything. Regretfully.”

Caroline laughed. “That would be one of the more effective ways to stop people Those things are hard!” The other girl pouted. “Well that’s no fun. I bet he’d hiding the secret of life under there or something.”

“People think my parents have brainwashed me into my beliefs. I definitely learned from them, but I’m smart enough to form my own opinions.”

“I took a picture of a weird mole on my side that I sent to my mom.”

“Peanut butter and Nutella sandwiches. Everyone says they’re too sweet, but I love them!”

        “Thankfully, there isn’t a shortage of chocolate. Do we need to possibly go get one… you know, just in case,” he added, gesturing to the front of the store where such candy bars would save her from a simple demise. But his arm dropped quickly, then relocated to the nape of his neck where he scratched away a few thoughts. “Wow, Harvard. That must have been amazing to get a letter to receive.”

“You’re right, I might have to stock up on it. Maybe I’ll just buy a case. I’m sure that could last em a couple days.” She laughed softly. Caroline smiled and nodded. “It was my dream school but I got waitlisted at first. When they accepted me I nearly fainted.” It was one of the most terrifying months of her life. Well, until now. “Did you go?”
