Shopping List of My Dad

I always accompany my mom to the groceries and in fact I love it. I love it when she buys lots of new skin products to test like lotion, moisturizers, bath gels and so many others. I also love when my mom buys lots of chocolates since we both love different kinds of chocolates. That’s the usual items that we buy when we do our groceries. However, last week my dad asked me if I could accompany him to the mall and I was like “oh this is something new” but I also agreed. I was surprised that the first thing that we did is to go to the tools section and he was like buying mesh tarps, some concrete nails, door knobs and other things for the house. Now I know why dad never goes with us to shop.

My Bucket List

I am an aids patient and doctors say i have just two weeks to live in this world... hah!!. So I’m making myself a list of things to do in my last two weeks, things which I was not able to do due to some reasons... due to some restrictions of my mind and some of my parents. But my biggest regret would be that I have done nothing for my afterlife, the reason I was sent to this world. I will collect all my earnings and try to make a hospital or start making a hospital because I have not enough time left, for patients like me because my country has only one aids hospital. Here poor could have a free treatment Meet my x-wife who left me to my disease... but tried to help me for 4 years and thank her for what she has done for me Go to England for two days... and watch an arsenal fc football game I always wanted to go there and see my heroes And lastly give my parents enough money so that they can perform ‘hajj’ as it is obligation in our religion... if I can’t do it at least get them to do it.

Busy Sunday for The Family

Our family are very used to having nice and quiet Sundays at home. Mom will cook really great lunch for us, we will eat together, watch some shows on TV and then we do things on our own. However, everything changed when my grandmother arrived. She is now staying with us in the house while she’s waiting for her house renovation to finish. Anyway, since last week, visitors keep on coming in the house. They were old friends and acquaintances of my grandma. In fact, last Sunday was totally a busy one for the whole family. We prepared the whole house for the party Grandma organized. There were shade tarps in the garage, lots of chairs and tables to accommodate her guests and whatnot. Oh well, it is not that I am complaining but the feeling of having that kind of busy Sunday was just weird.

Passing on That Unsuitable Job Opportunity

There is one short-term research position in Computer Science which I probably would have turned down, if I had the chance to make that decision again. In retrospect, the decision to take that job has been very harmful to my own research career. The job was only a 1-year contract and, with hindsight, it is obvious that 1-year was not long enough to make any significant contribution towards that project. So, it looks on my own CV now like a hole when I accomplished nothing. I am sure the effect on my employment opportunities of having taken that position, as opposed to waiting for a more suitable, longer position, has been very harmful.

Reconnecting With a Lost Friendship.

One of my biggest regrets would be losing contact this last year with certain friends in the USA. Having moved back to live in the UK after 3 years working in the USA, I haven't made sufficient effort to keep in contact with friends over there and I haven't spoken to one very close friend in the last 9 months. To not re-establish contact with her before I go to my grave would be very regretful. I haven't done anything about it yet because I keep putting it off until tomorrow. I keep telling myself that soon I will write to her or call her. I would spend one of my two remaining weeks on Earth visiting friends in the USA and another week at home with family.

But with busy life schedules and working conditions, I could not make it still. My parents have done too much for me so far and are doing now as well. So I just wanted to return something what they had done so far for me. Many a times we planned, but because of only me, it was cancelled. These last two weeks of my life, I want to take them for a trip and have everything for them and try my level best to satisfy them. California, LA, Las Vegas and many more. Just want to be with them and spend quality time till my soul alive.

Education

Education is one of the most important aspect of a mans professional life. If i had to change the last five years of my life i would have concentrated on further education. My decision to stop further education was one of the worst desicions i have ever made. I would have loved to do my masters in business administration. Now its too late for it because now i have family to take care of and many more duties and responsibilities up my sleeve. I am sure that with few years of further education i would have had a much more refined and easy life compared to the hard working lifestyle i have now.

Love and Respect

There are many possible things i would like to do and would like to change if i had only two weeks of my life remaining. First of all i would show much more respect and love two my parents. Throught life i have been taking my parents for granted even after knowing that what they are doing and what they want is all for our good. So i would give my parents lots of love and respect to them who have cared for me all my life. So i would like to give lots of love, care and respect to my parents in the last few days of my life.

Coffee is our alarm clock, our life coach, and our faithful companion. It will be there - always.

If I Were a Time Traveler

If I could go back in time I would go to New Jersey around 1740. I have done extensive genealogy and can trace much of my lineage back. Unfortunately, I am at a brick wall with one part of the family. I now that they had land in 1740 and appeared to be quite well off. They stayed in New Jersey, so definitely were not siding with the British during the Revolutionary War.

I would like to find out how they ended up in New Jersey and where they originally came from. What did they look like? How did they get the money to buy a sawmill? Were they bothered by Indians? I would want to see what their daily life was like. I would want to know why one of them was kicked out of the church. I would want to very much witness this but I definitely would want to travel back to the current time. I like my life, my electricity, my plumbing and my appliances.

If I Could Confront Someone

I wish that I had been able to confront my high school physical education teacher. First of all, she definitely only preferred the girls that played on her team. The rest of us were just individuals to put up with. We had to wear uniforms with skirts on them which were only flattering to about 2% of the female population. We had to wear these every time we had gym.

This meant running the football team’s obstacle course in the bad weather with no coats, sweaters,etc. Of course the gym teacher was appropriately attired for any weather. She never encouraged anyone to feel that they could achieve a sport or anything athletic.

I do not remember her cheering or praising anyone that wasn’t truly an athlete. I have seen what a great thing my children’s’ recreational soccer league was for them. Neither were stars, but the coaches encouraged them and gave them a chance to play. Every time I swim over one half a mile, I smile and wish the old lady could see me now.

Life Unfulfilled and Trying to Get There

No I do not consider my life a fulfilled one. Yes, I am happy for the journey that life has made me partake. However I feel that I have still not reached the life that I am destined to be living. I am trying to get to the point where I can live a happy life with my family. To get to that point, the most important thing is to bring my family that includes my parents together. My family works had to provide us with the needs and necessities of daily life. But I feel it is time that I can take care of my parents. Also I want to start a family of my own and raise kids with the same values that my parents raised me with.
