     Persephone watched him go before going to attend to her      own affairs...mainly the flowers.

     Melinoë was right where she was left, sitting in the library      going over lists for her mother.

He kissed her forehead

     She smiled. “If you keep being so sweet to me, I may      end up saying I don’t deserve you.” she said, clearly      loving his gentle treatment of her.

He nodded as he played with her hair

      She smiled as he did so, relaxing into his touch.

He nodded. “You and Mills are more similar then you think….”

     “Don’t tell her that or she’ll be very insulted,” Persephone      told him with a laugh, “But you better go and talk to her. I      would guess she’s worrying about what we’re talking about.”

He kissed her back. “Are you tired?”

      “A little but nothing I can’t handle. Why?” she asked, her       thumb gently smoothing over his cheek.

Ash stood up. “Alright, you three need to eat, wash up and bed. Mom also needs to rest.”

     Vera gave each of the boys a one armed hug and a kiss      on the top of their heads. “Don’t worry,” she told them,      “I’ll be back to playing with you three in the gardens in       no time.”

He smiled. “Should we get dressed?”

     “Probably a good idea.” Ella told him, “Unless you’ve      got any better ideas.”

“You don’t need to think about that anymore…”

     “Easier said than done after this long,” she sighed but       her smile remained, “I think I’ll just enjoy being wanted       and all that comes with it.”

“If you feel comfortable with that….”he hummed

     “You’re my husband,” she reminded gently, “Of       course, I will.”

     She smiled before she kissed him, her hand resting      on his cheek.

“We wanted to meet Aleksey.” Philip said

     Still holding Aleksey gently yet securely with one arm, Vera      reached out and gently ruffled Philip’s hair. “You have all the      time in the world for that,” she told him with a fond laugh,      “We’re a family, after all.”

He smiled. “I imagine that Hades does the same for you.”

     “He certainly does.” she told him, “He’s definitely the only      one who can as well. The springs and summers I had to be      without him were definitely not fun for those around me, if      I were to get upset.”

     She returned it and smiled. “Hey, maybe I’ll get the all clear      to tell you about what you don’t know of my childhood.”

     “I’ve never had anyone want to not let me go before,” she      told him, “But I think I really like it already. I mean, one thing      I always wanted was just to be wanted.”
