What is the Granite Mentorship all about? Perhaps this quote from today’s Granite Mentorship Kickoff Awareness Luncheon put it best – “We’re just trying to make a difference in every child, every day.”
Not every child has an adult to mentor them or help them through certain milestones in their lives, so the Granite Mentorship Program was started to help fill this void and make a positive difference for children in our community. Traci George (Workforce Unlimited) shared a little of her personal testimony about the impact of mentors on her own life: “I was that child that could’ve went left or right. But I had mentors in my life that believed in me when I didn't even believe in myself.”
Carport Central is proud to partner with Mount Airy Parks and Recreation, Workforce Unlimited and Mount Airy City Schools in helping to offer a positive influence for our young people as they try to navigate through this critical time of their lives. Together, we can help shape young adults for the good of themselves, and for the good of our community.
