A Dramatic Return

It’s currently almost 5am here so I’m not sure how long I’ll be sticking around after posting this.

I’ve recently super-detectived my way back into this blog after ages of searching through different email accounts. I’ve tried quite a few times over the years and never gotten anywhere til now. Until yesterday I didn’t even remember the blogs URL, let alone the email info I made it with.

I don’t know who’s left here, if anyone even is. I don’t remember how many friends I even had through this. I just know I have fond memories attached to RPing on this blog.

I know it sounds harsh to say I don’t remember how many friends I had here, but I really don’t. I’ve recently been diagnosed with hypothyroidism (if you don’t know what that is, it’s nothing serious!) but a huge symptom of that is memory loss. I’ve lost huge chunks of memory from my teenage years and that includes this, unfortunately. Hence why it took me so long to get back. I didn’t even remember I did this until about a year or so ago when my best friend started writing & RPing again and it jogged my memory. 

Is anyone still here? Does anyone remember me? My name is Victoria and I went by Tori on here. Just curious as I’ve looked back through SOME (so far) of the old RPs and ooc chats, just trying to figure out whats what. Would love to know if anyone is still about!

"Carrie, really I’m fine! I’ll go to the nurse if you’d like, but there’s no reason for an ambulance." It was rather comforting how worried she was though. He watched how flabbergasted she seemed to be. A laugh started to build in his throat, but he fought it. ‘Nows not the time, Ian.’ he told himself.

"Oh, God, you're delirious, Ian!" she half-yelled at him. She put her hand on his head to check his temperature, though she wasn't quite sure what good it would do him. She saw a small smirk appear on his face and began to think that she may have just been pranked. 'Pretty sick prank if you ask me..' she thought, but looking around there wasn't anyone else in the area, so she tried to push the idea from her mind and focus on Ian. "Ian you just fell from up there! Don't go saying 'Oh there's no need for an ambulance Carrie'" she said mimicking his voice and accent. "Because you just.. You fell from up there, Ian!"

Charlie hesitated a bit when grabbing Carrie's hand. "I believe you Carrie." He looked down at Marsvins too, not having a better place to look. "I still want you here by me. I still love you." He thought about how to word the next part. He didn't like making her feel bad but he thought it was better to be honest. "It's just now I have this fear that if I get too close to you then you will disappear again. I just want to be caution. If that makes sense."

When Charlie told her he loved her, Carrie felt her cheeks flush as if it was the first time he'd ever told her. She kept looking at Marsvins as he began to settle down and rest and Charlie continued to talk. "Honey.." she shook her head, "Of course that makes sense! I don't expect you to be all Happy as Larry just because I'm back, it's okay" she reassured him. "I just wanted to make sure you understood, and didn't hate me.." she squeezed his hand once and then looked up at him. "I still love you too, Charlie. I hope that, even after this, you still know that"

"Oh, well…If you don’t mind me coming with you. I’ve worked up an appetite being invisible," Jordan said, sticking his hands behind his back to get them back to normal. He laughed nervously, nudging his head in the direction of a door and the hallway to the kitchen. "So, how did the Carrie Hope Fletcher end up in this basket case factory?" he asked walking next to her.

"Had nowhere better to go, really" she told him as they began to walk. "I didn't really have anything in England, but I found out about this place when I was watching someone's video - I think it was one of Dan's but I could be wrong - basically telling his subscribers about his time here. I figured it was worth a shot so I applied. The institute were really nice, offered to pay for my flight here and everything, and now this Mad House is home" she said with a slight smile. She looked up at him, he looked like he was the nervous and shy type. Definitely not what she was used to after a few months in a theatre with performers. She tried to bring out a bit of charisma to encourage him out of his shell a bit. "What about you Jordan Sweeto? What made you pack up and move to be with the barking mad bunch here?"

Carrie wore what was probably her most genuine smile of the day as she watched Charlie move to sit next to her, thanking God that he didn’t want her to leave him alone forever. She felt the guinea pig wriggle in her lap to also watch Charlie’s movements. “Poor thing, you”...

"And I hope they never get approved. Imagine this place if the Harries' became triplets!" she giggled. She felt her heart drop when he started to talk about the future of 'them'. What was she expecting? For him to just forgive her for abandoning him for months? "I know. I'm sorry" she said, looking away from him and instead at the guinea pig sat in her lap. "I honestly didn't mean to disappear for so long. But it makes perfect sense for you to feel that way. I didn't expect you to want to speak to me at all anyway, but I guess I was just.." she breathed out a small laugh when she realised how she was ending that sentence. "..Hopeful. I was hopeful" she smiled. She really shouldn't be smiling right now. "I really am sorry" she repeated, with more sincerity this time.

They looked at each other for quite some time. Ian didn't seem to be registering her words. Or anything else, for that matter. But then, without any warning, he bolted upright and told her he was alright. "No you're not Ian, you can't be" she told him. "You need to lie down and wait for help." but she had to admit, he looked like he could run a marathon if he wanted to. Maybe he was delirious? If he really did fall from that broken window then it didn't make any sense that he was alive right now. "Ian did you actually-" she gestured towards to window then down to the floor where he was now sat. "Like, all that way.. You've got to lie down, you're worrying me.."

I think I just died || Carrie and Ian

Ian felt the ground beneath him begin to leave, it was in that instant that his whole life flashed before him. He heard the crash of glass as his body hit the window, in hein sight dancing so close to the window from three stories up wasn’t smart, especially since he was so clumsy. His body hit the ground with a loud thud, followed by a few gasps from nearby. Every thing went dark suddenly, and his breathing went still. Dead. That’s what he was. He’d never get married, or have kids or any thing normal people did. And yet,moments later his eyes fluttered opened and he was alive again.

Oh God, oh God. What are you meant to do in this situation? Why did I skip school so much as a kid? I bet they learnt about how to handle these things. Oh God is he dead? Ian please don't be dead you can't be dead. Carrie's thoughts were racing. What the hell were people meant to do when one of their friends may or may not be dead in front of them? She'd already yelled at someone, no, it was a panicked shriek.. She'd panicked and shrieked at someone to call an ambulance or get an adult and not not just stand there!!!, and then she ran straight over to the body. She didn't quite understand what had happened. One minute there was the crash of breaking glass and the next the thump of a body hitting the floor. But before she could fully comprehend what was going on, Ian's eyes opened and met hers. "Ian! Oh my God, sweetie, you're not dead! Are you okay?" Of course he's not okay!, "Listen someone's on their way to help and it's all gonna be fine" she said, more to reassure herself. She gently brushed his hair away from his face and tried to see if anything else was wrong with him. He seemed unusually calm, which was worrying.

"Uh, Jordan. My name’s Jordan- Sweeto," he said, as his fingers played around with themselves. The boy took a second to calm his nerves after the wave of genuine starstruck fell through him. "Y-Yeah. I came at a time where a lot of people weren’t really sticking around because it was summer," he said, moving his hair out of his own face.

"Nice to meet you Jordan" she said with a smile. The boy seemed quite nervous and although she wouldn't like to admit it, it amused Carrie quite a bit. "I think I'll be headed to get some food, I'm starving! Care to join or are you headed somewhere?"

Charlie couldn’t but smile when Carrie was talking to Marsvins.”Too late now he is on meds.” He admitted to her. “Thanks it wasn’t easy but I had my experiments and this fog stuff to keep me busy including the clones.” Charlie got up and sat in a seat next to Carrie. He still wasn’t sure what to do now. He was still a bit frizzed and not entirely sure she was actually real. “I’m glad you are back and safe at least. And I hope your play went well too. And uhh…” he wasn’t sure what to say next so he just shut up.

Carrie wore what was probably her most genuine smile of the day as she watched Charlie move to sit next to her, thanking God that he didn't want her to leave him alone forever. She felt the guinea pig wriggle in her lap to also watch Charlie's movements. "Poor thing, you" she muttered to him, scratching his little head gently until he was settled again. "Clones? D'you mean like, skin cells and bits of hair to make..? Y'know what it actually doesn't surprise me now that I think about it" she chuckled. "Mad Scientist, Charlie McDonnell" she muttered under her breath as she laughed.

Charlie flinched when she touched him but still didn't move from his spot. "You realize this is what happened last time Carrie? I don't blame you but I nearly went insane this time. After what happen with Shane and Cat I'm not sure what to feel. Relief that you are here and safe or panic that you might leave me again. I was honestly this close to isolation at one point." Charlie sighed calming himself down looking at his new calmed pet. "Even Marsvins missed you. He has bullied every pet here and Felix."

Hearing him talk about his time without her broke her heart. And knowing that all the while she was having the time of her life on a West End stage made her feel even worse. "Charlie, I.." she could finish her sentence. I what? I'm sorry? She'd already said that, and it was a bit pathetic to say that now anyway. She wanted to curl up next to him. Wrap her arms around him and promise him that she'd never leave him again. But she doubted he wanted to be anywhere near her. Not right now.

She laughed weakly at his remark about Marsvins. She lifted him up to her eye level and said "That's not very nice of you now, is it?" in a voice that you'd only ever talk to an animal or baby in. She set him back down in her lap and looked back to Charlie. "Well.. For what it's worth, I'm glad you managed to keep yourself out of isolation. I don't know what happened with Cat and Shane, but whatever it was, you were stronger than that and.. I'm proud of you, Charlie" she said with full sincerity. Perhaps it was because of the seriousness of the moment, or because the entirety of her past few months have been fast-paced, but the time it took for Charlie to respond in any way seemed to take forever and a day. She thought that she should probably go, but she couldn't bring herself to leave him there. Not again, anyway.

"There was no way you could have," Jordan nearly shrieked. He brushed himself off and self his hair out of his face. It was amazing how even with his powers he still managed to mess it up. "Hey, you're Carrie right? Can I just say how much I love your music-and your brother's band? You guys are so inspirational.."the boy rambled and cut himself off as he took a breath.

"Oh.. Alright then" she chuckled. She felt herself start blushing at his compliments. "Thank you so much!" she said on instinct, then realising that her thanks sounded quite fake. "Now, uhm, really, thank you a lot, that means a lot" she nodded, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. "Anyway, you know who I am, but I don't believe I know you, you must've came her during the time I was gone. Nice to meet you, thoughhhh-" she dragged out her last word and raised her eyebrows, waiting to learn his name and finish her sentence.

Jordan had found himself in the Commons, wondering around while completely invisible. There’s no point in having the power of invisibility and bending matter if he could never use it. And like he’d said to Tessa, there are only a few times in the year- and this was one of those times. 

Carefully, he made himself invisible, and freaked out quite a few people who he whispered into his ear and would quickly move around. Then while he was walking back, satisfied with himself, he bumped into someone. His power quickly faded as he apologised quickly, “Oh my gosh, I’m super duper sorry. Are you okay?…Sorry about that…”

Carrie had almost made it to the Commons when she bumped into what she could only describe as an invisible force field. She stopped to fix her hair and make sure she wasn't hurt anywhere when she noticed a boy stood right beside her. Before she could even ask him where he came from he started apologising like crazy. She started to giggle a little at how apologetic he was. "I'm fine, it's okay. I just mustn't have seen you, sorry" she said, smiling a slightly confused smile.

"Oh crap.." Carrie muttered under her breath. Of course Charlie would be the very first person she saw. She nearly turned around and started walking back, but that lovely little guinea pig had already spotted her and would probably run and follow her if she turned away.

Charlie still hadn’t seen her, so she was able to make her way towards where he sat unnoticed. Of course it was possible that he knew she was there and was ignoring her, but she pushed that thought from her mind.

"Hello stranger," she said to him, smiling a nervous smile as she leaned against the back of the free armchair, waiting for his response.

Charlie put the book down when he heard the angelic voice. He looked at Marsvins who was looking beside him. Charlie looked over and jumped out of his chair falling to the floor. "Carrie!" he said identifying the curly hair girl in front of him. This would happen to him right now. "What are you doing here? They said you weren't coming back."

Charlie falling took Carrie by surprise. A little startled, she rushed over to kneel next to him. She put her hand on his shoulder to make sure he was steady, before getting embarrassed and pulling her hand back towards herself. "I- uhm- sorry.." she stumbled on her words. She wasn't used to being embarrassed anymore. She'd been so confident while acting and singing. Even when being interviewed she was always full of charisma. But now her words were failing her and she could tell that she was going red in the face. She picked up Marsvins and sat him in her lap, trying to form a sentence in her head.

"..I'm sorry, Charlie. I now I should have spoken to you more often. Called you, skyped you, texted, wrote a letter, something.. But.. Oh, there isn't a proper excuse, Charlie. I was cut off from contacting anyone here, I couldn't even call up Principal Mag to tell her I'd be back until a couple of days ago!" she pleaded. "I thought it might be a nice surprise, I didn't realise that I'd been gone without a word for so many months- oh God, months it was.. I'm sorry, Charlie.."

It seemed like the layout of the Institute had stayed pretty much the same since Carrie left. Dorms in the same place, music rooms and classes still where they used to be. Hopefully people still stuck to the same areas they used to.

Charlie sat on a couch in the commons reading up on a new experiment to do in his lab. Marsvins was wrestling with a stuff animal on the floor in front of him.

After seeing Shane go into isolation and coming out different. He figured he should normal up before he was next. He was actually enjoying himself so far. Marsvins seemed calmer and it just seemed like everything was going right.

Marsvins looked up when he saw Carrie come into the commons. He squeaked at Charlie and kept starring at her. “No Marsvins I am not giving you another treat today.” Charlie responded not looking up.

~Whatever I called the last one~ -Open

It seemed like the layout of the Institute had stayed pretty much the same since Carrie left. Dorms in the same place, music rooms and classes still where they used to be. Hopefully people still stuck to the same areas they used to.

She hadn't seen many people at all since her arrival a few days ago, unpacking and worrying about seeing everyone had taken over her schedule. But now, unpacked and with nothing to keep her occupied, it was time to face the life she left behind all those months ago. 

She took a deep breath in, and a deep breath out (it was a habit she'd picked up in rehearsals almost instantly), and with that she left her dorm room, not bothering to lock the door behind her. She walked down the corridor slowly and cautiously, as if hiding from a monster that could be around any corner, and even with knowing such a notion wasn't possibly true, she couldn't help it, and she felt silly. But she was almost at the Commons now, and she knew that someone was bound to be in there.

Returned - Closed

It was a few days after Carrie arrived back at the Institute. Dr. Dee had been busier than usual recently so her re-enrollment had taken longer than it should have. But now she was a fully enrolled student again, and she was actually glad to be back.

As far as she knew, not many people knew she was back. She was almost certain that Charlie was clueless about her return. She'd been giddy about reuniting with him ever since she found out she'd be flying back to continue life at the Mad House, but as the occasion drew nearer she found herself dreading it more and more. Obviously she'd still be happy to see him, but would he be happy to see her? She had to stop contacting him after a few weeks of being in London, her manager said that she needed cut off all contact with any possible distractions, something about "not being fully in character" in her lovey-dovey scenes. No way Charlie would buy into that as a valid excuse, he was probably crushed.

But it was too late to worry about that now. She was back, unpacked, and ready to pick up where she left off.. Or at least try to. It was time to go remake her mark on the Institute.

A baby?! Oh God I'm not good at dealing with kids at all until they reach around eight/nine-ish! Like, really awful. Looks like I've got a lot of catching up to do then..
