Goodbye Louisiana! I've had my fill for now. You've been great but time to get my California on for a while.
Later, gator.

Private tour of the Atchafalaya Basin. This is where Nat Geo did their special. Didn't see any alligators that day, but PLENTY of other fun things. How about that eagle nest? And can you spot the mini frog?
While walking along a dry, gravel path in Baton Rouge, you see the following, take a closer look, and find out it's:
A) old food in the shape of a frog
B) smashed plant debris in the shape of a frog
C) a figment of your imagination
D) super old frog road kill
Teddy's Juke Joint in Zachary. What a wild night. Guest Mem Shannon and his blues band from New Orleans had us dancing all night. Teddy is quite the character- let's just say be ready for some inappropriate commentary over the loud speaker.

2 1/2 weeks to go. Road trips collection. Memory images.
Visit to the state capitol in Baton Rouge. Realllly pretty.
This big guy was trying to cross a busy road between sections of the LSU lakes and stopped dead in the middle, hiding in his shell when a car passed. I had a hero moment!!! I went to the road and picked him up by the sides of his badass shell and plopped him in the grass by the side of the lake. He took some convincing to move again, but I saw him slip into the water. TURTLES IN A HALF SHELL! TURTLE POWER!
PORK.
Delicious? Disturbing?
Face your food.
Radio Bar... the only place in Baton Rouge that I can say for certain can handle any crowd. There's a very serious ping pong queen, Magic Hat on draft, and some damn good music playing chosen by the patrons themselves.
My Louisiana roommate takes some awesome sunset pics. Today's was fun.
Gators, bobcats and BEAUTIFUL, lush scenery... this is where we are!! #TheSouth #Louisiana #Swamplands #CajunCountry National Geographic Wild Swamplands 2of2 Cajun Country (by Jimmy James)
This is real. This is here. This is hilarious. Get Wiggly, y'all.
Stopped by this VERY cool lounge last night in New Orleans and MAN, was the band and dancing good! It was their swing night. Check out the Shotgun Jazz Band here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAUibjIgu58
I even spotted a dancer I had seen on my last adventure on Frenchman Street. Maybe I'll just follow the swing dancers wherever they go... they seem to know what's up!
Recent adventure... Tsunami Sushi downtown Baton Rouge. Pretty yummy!

Quick trip through death defying stormy weather to New Orleans for brunch at Dante's kitchen. Then... we found a pretty darn cute neighborhood with some unusual decor.
There is a paleo friendly cafe here and it's called MAGPIE!!! So darn good. Mmm. mmm. mmm.
