Haikyuu!! Review (all 3 seasons) by carryongogs! ↠  I’m also Kuroosaki!

     HEY HEY HEEY! Ready for a Haikyuu!! review? So, here we go!

     As in most sports anime, there are lots of important characters who are somewhere in between protagonists and secondary characters, but Haikyuu!! is mainly centered around those two cutie pies up there, Hinata Shoyo and Tobio Kageyama.

     Precious Hinata is not very tall. However, after watching a player nicknamed “Little Giant” play, he feels inspired, seeking to prove that size doesn’t matter. He assembles an amateur team with his friends and they even make it to a small tournament. But they are totally crushed by the “king of the court”, Tobio, and his team. Other than losing his will to play, Hinata makes Tobio his rival and intends to beat him when he enters highschool.

     The thing is… They end up at the same school (Karasuno)! Now they have to put their differences aside and learn to work together. The first season focuses most on the formation of their team and the bonds they create.

    As for season 2, Karasuno seeks to grow even stronger as a team. In order to achieve that goal, they accept an invitation for a training camp from Nekoma High, a long-standing rival. There, they are able to play against other great teams and learn a lot. After that, they enter the Spring tournament, which may be the last chance for the 3rd years to play alongside their comrades.

     Season 3 is shorter (only 10 episodes), but it’s really intense, since it’s the last game of the tournament. Perhaps what I loved the most about this one was to see the climax of Tsukki’s “change” and how much they strengthened their ties as a team, almost like a family :)

     I’m a sucker for this series, since I find it to be really “uplifting”, like, there’s no way you can be sad while watching Haikyuu!! And you can’t hate anyone lol

Nice animation; 

Songs that get stuck in your head; 

They’re all cute dorks and their comical scenes are the perfect counterweight for the tension of the matches, which will keep you on the edge of your seat!

For me, it’s a 10/10, so I highly recommend it! :) 

Also, thank you so much @tobiohchan for introducing me to this awesome series, which I hold very dear to my heart! I owe you countless smiles and laughs I had while watching it.

In Regards to Love: Eros (a fic)

Plot: Changing Yuri’s interpretation of the song a bit. I liked it; maybe I’ll come up with another chapter later.

      The bar was rather empty today, save for the dancers, trying to catch my attention as usual, and three other gentlemen sitting across the room. The air was damp and the place reeked of alcohol. Again, as usual. The difference was the chills going down my spine. 

    “Why so serious, Don Juan?” Joe, the barista, asked while cleaning a glass. 

     “It’s nothing, really… Just feeling a bit odd…” Indeed. Weird stirrings in my chest had been bothering me for a while now.

     “Oh, come on, tell me about it!” He put away the glass and leaned on the counter beside me. “You’re acting weird. No drinking, no flirting with the girls, what’s wrong?”

     “I really don’t know how to explain, since I’ve never felt it before. It’s just… a plain strange feeling in my chest.” What could it be?

     When I lifted my eyes, Joe was giving me a peculiar look and grinning. “Hum hum, I know what you mean. It’s rather uncomfortable in the beginning, but you’ll get used to it.” He turned to serve another customer that had just arrived. What do you mean, Joe?

     When he came back, I had the question on the tip of my tongue. “What can you tell me about this, Joe?”

     Joe crossed his arms, looking satisfied with himself. “Oh, I’m an expert on the matter. It’s indeed hard to describe and the intensity of it varies from person to person. But one thing is the same to everyone: that feeling of being incomplete, that something is missing. That’s what you’re feeling, right?”

      “It’s more of a someone who’s missing, I think…” I couldn’t believe I spoke the words out loud. What’s the matter with me?

     “Ha, I knew it! But the fact that you, of all people, don’t know the feeling surprises me, actually.”

     “Why should I know about it?”

     “Oh, you’re the one messing around with every girl you meet. Blinking at them, giving them that heart-melting smile… Is it all just part of the show?” Joe’s eyebrow raised slightly in a silent question.

     “Of course it is! And it’s always been like that. It’s just to sparkle their interest…”

     Joe looked at me as if he couldn’t believe what was happening. “Wow, that’s pretty cold, señor caliente. But I presume that now there’s a different case and that’s what’s bothering you, right?”

     I lowered my head a bit. “I’ve been doing this forever now. From town to town, always looking for the best girl, the unobtainable one. Then, I find a way to win her heart. Whenever I notice I won the game, I move on to the next town. Everything always according to plan.” A frown began to form. “Never before had I felt anything for anyone I’ve been with. And yet here I am, barely able to concentrate whenever she crosses my mind…”

     Joe lifted my chin. “It’s called love, señor, and it would come to get you sooner or later.”

     “You must mean haunt me, ‘cause that’s more like it…” I felt dizzy and odd. “Pour me something strong.”

     “Oho ho, right away! That’s actually the best medicine for your condition.” Joe said it like a joke, but I was really feeling sick.

     Images of last night flashed before my eyes. She had finally let me come close. Not much, but still… I had held her face in my hands and dove deep into those cobalt blue eyes. She seemed so different from the proud, untouchable woman I first met. Almost… vulnerable. I’d wanted to hold her, but the moment she realized she had let her guard down, she immediately put it back up and pushed me away… She was so beautiful under the full moonlight…

     I shook my head. What am I thinking?

Yuri!!! On Ice review by carryongogs!        Hey, I’m also Kuroosaki (!)

Our story follows Yuri Katsuki ^-^, who is a professional ice skater who recently scored the last position on the Grand Prix Final (poor Katsudon was going through a tough time, so don’t be hard on him). Not being able to qualify for the other competitions, he goes back home after being away for 5 years. 

Even with everything that’s happened, we can see Yuri really loves ice skating and is really good at it, being able to recreate a coreography originally made by his role model, Victor Nikiforov. A video of him doing it ends up on the internet, is seen by Victor, who flys to Japan and offers to be Yuri’s coach for the next season. 

The anime follows the development of their relationship and how Yuri matures, both on and off the ice. 

Why do I really like it? 

Firstly, I love ice skating; 

Great soundtrack (sUPER AMAZING); 

Relatable and loveable characters (they’re all cutie pies!); 

I like the animation style (especially the opening); 

It has that sports anime atmosphere, in which you don’t hate anyone and you just cheer out loud for them <3;

The fact that it’s a pioneer project and that the level of difficulty of animating lots of characters ice skating is really high makes it all even more special!

Conclusion? wATCH IT PLEASE!

Your Lie in April review by carryongogs!

Your Lie in April (or Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso) is a cutie patootie anime (though it wrecked my heart lol) about a young prodigious pianist, Arima Kousei, whose mother passed away and, since then, he can’t hear the notes he plays. 

For two years, he ignores the piano and just “gets by”, really. Until he meets Kaori Miyazono, a rather excentric violinist who is able to change his “monocromatic” world; to put some color in things; to shake things up and make him see things through a new angle (BH6 reference there hehe). 

The anime follows their journey of self-discovery, permeating their motivations to play and their feelings.

+ Lovely animation (lots of Sakura trees, yaay ( ᐛ )و);

Soundtrack consisting of amazing piano and violin parts;

Cute comical scenes to relieve the tension 

Warning: I cried several times throughout the whole thing, maybe because I’m a cry baby ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I definitely recommend it though!
