Lately I've been developing a workflow that uses some structural analysis software with grasshopper. I think some of the images are pretty beautiful. These are some stress-lines from Millipede for Grasshopper
design
A few weeks ago I was working on developing a new background for my phone with a similar workflow to what I used last semester in studio. I started playing with the different illumination and reflection channels in Maxwell Render; the results are certainly an improvement.
design
In Mario Gooden's studio this semester, I'm working with Grasshopper to parse and structure some data regarding agricultural production in Brazil in the past 100 years. Part of this process has led to me milling some of these forms out of blue insulation.
At first I was mildly annoyed at how rough the finish was, but it's grown on me a bit. The next step is casting.
photography
It snowed pretty severely here in New York 2 weeks ago, it was really miserable to walk around in while the storm was blowing, but it was enjoyable to walk around in the next day. As I was walking around, I saw that there was a cool condition underneath this bridge that crosses Amsterdam where light was allowed to pass between the bridge and the adjacent building, illuminating the space below.
