Kitchen Mishaps || Jade + Carter

"I know I drive you nuts - completely bonkers, off the wall crazy and you - you love it because were best friends and always will be. When we’re old and grey will will be old and grey together just as crazy as we are now" Jade blushed laughing shaking her head as she ran another hand through her hair. The only guy to ever make her want to be like a girl, to wear those dresses that made her itch and to be more feminine then she was. Walking up to him Jade, wrapped her arms around him, holding him tightly. She was dirty and covered in flour in sauce but she appreciated him helping her. Sticking her tongue out at him Jade pulled away brushing some flour off of his shirt.

Glancing around the kitchen she would have to have this cleaned up by the time Dustin got home from visiting with his friends and Del would be calling soon enough to talk Jade’s ear off but for now she had the pleasure of having someone she could actually stand in her house making lunch with her. Jade ignored his tone of voice knowing Carter wasn’t thrilled with her life partner but it was her life partner and just like he, she couldn’t change him he’d have to grow on her no matter how reluctant she was. “I’ll help you clean up after I change. I’ve already gotten everything cut up in those bowls over there and the cheese is shredded. One thing I am good with is a knife. I’ll be back” Jade rolled her eyes nudging his shoulder as she passed him.

He laughed, but he felt his face turning slightly red when she mentioned he love her because they were best friends and would always be. Maybe – that could be one of the reasons, but he was sure there were many more. It was because she hated girly things, and how she was devoted to exercise herself. It was because she was a horrible housewife, but yet she tried to cook for him – she failed miserably, yet she looked adorable covered in flour. He loved her because she was the one that respected his time, his space and would even make fun of Delilah with him. She was just perfect – even if she wasn’t perfect, she was perfect for him. As she wrapped her arms around him, he did the same around her waist, kissing the side of her face. “And now I don’t love you anymore, since you covered me in dirty” he joked as she tried to clean him.

“Don’t worry, I’ll help you clean before your husband gets home…” there were a clear note of bitterness in his voice. If only she could remember that Dustin wasn’t his choice. They were ready to live in Utopia together, they were meant to be together and, yet, they were apart. It was like living inside a nightmare to Carter. Jade seemed to be open to make it work witn Dustin though. He hated, especially because he wasn’t planning on let Delilah get anywhere with him. Carter stared as she walked away, before he make his away to the toppings she said she had shredded and started to spread over the dough.
