ok ill try to make this as short as possible ;; junseob is fantastic bc theyve been friends since before debut n its obvious at this point that theyre total besties which is super cute but my fave thing abt their dynamic is that its not pure lovey dovey boys all over themselves its kind of like a game of cat n mouse junhyung is n always has been completely all over yoseob he always wants his attention n is always talking abt him n its rly rly sweet n honestly imo regardless of fanservice or sexuality or anything i think junhyung has /some sort/ of crush on yoseob like he rly rly admires him n the way he talks abt him is flat out romantic i love it ;; but then theres yoseob who (despite looking like the biggest sweetheart in the world) can be SO MEAN to junhyung he kind of ignores him a lil bit (n i rly do mean a lil bit) n he teases junhyung a lot n probably isnt even half as physically affectionate as junhyung is (which is probably why junhyung gets so clingy) BUT U CAN TELL YOSEOB CARES bc he tweets n talks abt junhyung a lot n they spend a /lot/ of time together n he has a special nickname for junhyung that no one else uses ;;; i think yoseob just wants to seem rly manly (he has a complex with that but thats a story for another day) so he tries to play it cool w his affection towards other ppl like junhyung once said that when yoseobs drunk he gets clingy n compliments ppl n always thanks junhyung for giving him caffeine (his solo song that junhyung wrote/composed/produced which i think was either going to be a junhyung solo or a junseob duet but they already have a duet together its basically my theme song) n that in itself is super amazing bc junhyung gave yoseob this song that basically sky-rocketed yoseobs popularity n confidence n rly that song symbolizes n means so much i could probably dissect that alone o<-< BUT THat kind of brings me to another point yoseob is very valuable to junhyung bc junhyung is a producer/composer/writer with very little confidence in his vocals n ever since debut yoseob has been singing junhyungs guides/choruses for everything hes written n its rly amazing bc its almost like w/o yoseob junhyung wouldnt have an outlet for his art idk maybe thats a bit dramatic but yoseob said hell sing any songs junhyung makes n junhyung called yoseob his vocal slave n even tho yoseobs vocal cords are in his body, theyre still junhyungs o<-< theyre super supportive of each other in a great ideal relationship (of any kind) sort of way that warms my heart n at least career wise they complete each other ;___; they definitely lean on each other a lot ;; a lot of ppl see it as brotherly love, which i definitely do too, but i think its the kind of situation where its like “we’re friends but if u asked me to fuck u i totally would” OH AND junhyung has an obsession w yoseobs butt???? hes always touching it?? so thats cool… oh n just the other day junhyung said if he was a b2uty hed be yoseobs fan bc yoseob has everything he wants/desires WHICH IS PRETTY.. UM… YEAh…. i could go on forever but this is supposed to be short so???? yeah

oh and i guess for headcanon stuff yoseob is shorter and younger (by a year) & junhyung is taller + older (obviously) so when they kiss n stuff it would be rly cute… yoseob would have to go on his tippy toes or junhyung would have to lean down n i think its rly sweet ;;;;;;

The bike ride.

This is honestly my first text post about JunSeob, so let me just start off by saying this: they are the mother of all my OTPs, the OTP of all my OTPs, the whole reason I got into the shipping business, actually. I’ll probably be relating the long and uninteresting story some posts later, but anyway, I think that’s enough to explain why I have to write a spazz text post, even if no one reads it.

Because we need to talk about that bike ride. Seriously. Setting aside the mere fact that Junhyung backhugs Yoseob (granted, with a fishing rod but it is still a backhug, fishing tool or no), did you see that bit where he tries to sit backwards and his right hand slips around Yoseob’s waist and ventures dangerously close to uncharted territory? Because I did, and I was left speechless. Just. OH MY GOD. Did his hand really just go all the way down to where I think it did?

Commence spazzing moment. I honestly wouldn’t have given it a second thought, since JunYo/JunSeob shippers are well aware of how clingy Junhyung is, and wrapping an arm around Yoseob is perfectly justifiable since they’re riding a bike in tandem, but of course Yoseob directs our minds to the gutter by reacting to the hand that’s wandering down lower than his waist and saying that the position of Junhyung’s hand is ‘strange’. Thank you for alerting me to the R-rated scenario you two came so close to making, Yoseob. Once they settle down in their respective positions, Junhyung says something along the lines of, “Let’s just spend the next hour like this (riding the bike together)”, since if I understood correctly Yoseob is allowed to use the bike for an hour (apologies if this is proven to be inaccurate). What does this mean? Essentially, it means they had a one-hour bike date with Yoseob riding behind Junhyung. The footage, unfortunately, was not shown, but the truth remains that they were the only two to stay together during the 'personal time’ given to each member. On the one hand, you could argue it being the result of Yoseob unintentionally ruining Junhyung’s fishing escapade, but for all Junhyung’s nagging, he doesn’t seem unhappy to see that Yoseob visited him. In fact, he looks only too enthusiastic during the short-lived time he teaches Yoseob the basics of fishing. And what about Yoseob riding down to meet him? This suggests that he was, in fact, not as contented to bike alone as he had originally planned. He could have chosen to keep riding on after a quick hello, but he keeps Junhyung company, and presumably they stay together until it’s time to return to their lodgings. I’ve spotted a lot of subtle JunSeob/JunYo going on in Showtime but this has got to be one of the cutest moments so far. They may appear to be less touchy nowadays when compared to earlier years, but the spark’s definitely still there, and it’s not dying down anytime soon.

JunSeob/JunYo (head)canons

I always had this headcanon that Yoseob holds a special place in his heart for the songs Junhyung personally had a hand in, to the point of memorizing all the lyrics.

Going through the recent live performances of Good Luck, We Up and Sad Movie, though, I’m beginning to realize it’s not just a headcanon.

It is canon.

It’s nothing out of the ordinary to see Junhyung mouthing the lyrics to the songs silently - those are the words he penned after all. It’s more astonishing to note that Yoseob does the same thing too. Granted, I’ve only scrutinized this year’s lives so I don’t know how long he’s been doing this for, but this is going beyond just having a keen interest in the rap sections (which in itself is enough reason for JunSeob/Junyo shippers to smile). He knows all the other parts too, and while there are times he’ll mouth one member’s line and not others, there’s one particular part he never fails to follow.

Yep, you guessed it right. Junhyung’s lines.

In a band with 7 albums (mini and full), each member has enough on his plate to bother memorizing the parts that aren’t their own. Yoseob goes for the extra mile, though, and while I’m sure there are many reasons for it, it can’t be denied that it is partially to show how proud he is of his boyfriend, who has come so far in just five years. I do think he treasures Junhyung’s songs from the bottom of his heart, and the fact that Junhyung composed the title track and produced his solo album had a huge impact on cementing their friendship. Junhyung will come up with the most ridiculous demands, give him high notes he’s not even certain he can pull off in live performances, but he goes ahead and gives his all anyway, because he knows Junhyung trusts him enough to create songs that would daunt even main vocalists from other groups.

One more thing I wanted to add: the respect and affection is clearly not one-sided. We’ve all seen Junhyung’s Instagram post about recording the chorus. He’s obviously concerned about Yoseob’s condition, enough to alter his original plans and record the chorus himself. Even in the third episode of Showtime, he waves off his own cracking voice during recording because he’s confident Yoseob can pull off what he’s envisioning without a hitch.

Their relationship isn’t simply that of two co-workers, or even just of two friends. Yoseob truly appreciates Junhyung’s songs and his contributions to Beast, which is why he’ll consistently perform regardless of his present state. Likewise, Junhyung draws inspiration from Yoseob when composing his songs and views him as his muse. Having Yoseob as his guidemaker reassures him that all his ideas will be conveyed without being lost in translation, which is why he’s constantly challenging himself to explore new genres and concepts. They both drive each other to greater heights, demonstrating a relationship of complete reciprocity.

It may have been Yoseob who spoke on Beast’s behalf about wanting to make a comeback in October, but there’s no way he wouldn’t have broached it with his members, specifically with Junhyung, who’s in charge of album production and composition, along with Kim Taeju and more recently Kikwang. If Junhyung had said it was an impossible task, it’s unthinkable that Yoseob would have pushed the idea forward. That means they were in on it together, at the very least.

Just some food for thought for JunYo/JunSeob shippers before the comeback. :)

Although there are English subs, I still listened to Beast speaking so I made a few adjustments although I’m pretty sure the translation is still not 100% accurate. So there. Enjoy. :)

The Artist and His Muse

That’s really what Junhyung and Yoseob are, and reading that recent Japanese interview has just reiterated this point for me.

Junhyung has wonderful and positive things to say about all the members voices, but let’s not forget the name that was on the tip of his tongue:Yoseob. Always Yoseob. To be honest, I think he would have kept talking about the beauty of their main vocalist’s voice if he hadn’t been prompted to talk about the others.

Junhyung certainly doesn’t stake a personal claim to vocal cords other than Yoseob’s, nor does he express a desire to monopolize their voices the way he does his, to the extent of offhandedly saying Yoseob will sing his songs until death.

Junhyung appreciates all the members, but Yoseob’s development is the one he’s most emotionally invested in. Every composition practically begins with the creation of Yoseob’s parts. It’s imagining what Yoseob will sound like that helps him polish and perfect his works.

Take Yoseob away, and I’m quite sure Junhyung wouldn’t be the same inspired artist he is today.
