Hello, hello, it's Carmen! I'm coming to you live from the library, here to let you know today's forecast... or do your English homework. That works too. Whatever floats your boat. :o)
Homework is $10 per page, essays are a flat fee of $20, and my forecasts, thoughts, and advice are free. I will also accept payment in gossip, stationary, and firecrackers :o)
(P.S. Don't worry about the firecrackers—iykyk.)
ooc: i wanted to make an rp blog because i saw other people doing it and i thought it might be fun! i love carmen and i'm trying to develop her more, so please feel free to stop by and ask something (or poke fun, share headcanons, or what have you; there's not a lot of things i won't answer ^^)

below the cut is carmen's oc profile and some fun facts about her! this information has its own dedicated post, but i thought it'd be more convenient to have all this information in one place!
(please note that her clique status may be subject to change as I complete the other charts! i've never done anything this thorough with my ocs before, so i'm still figuring stuff out as i go. credits to @Jimothy_hopkins for the template!)
Carmen's love of meteorology was encouraged by her parents at an early age; her father is a storm chaser and her mother is a forecaster. Her parents are frequently busy with work, leaving Carmen mostly to her (and her grandmother's) devices.
Because of her parents' busy schedules, Carmen grew up particularly close to her grandmother; if she's not on campus or hanging out with the nerds, she's at her grandmother's house.
She tends to click her teeth when nervous, in thought, or annoyed.
Her go-to Halloween costume has always been Dorothy Gale. She's been Dorothy every year since she was a child and she sees no reason to stop now.
Weather isn't her only passion; Carmen's also fond of writing. Most of her diary is written in flowery prose, and she tends to hide actual entries between poems (her attempt at deterring eavesdroppers).
Her voice claim is Hemlocke Springs; here's a clip of her talking!
Carmen is a lesbian, and as far as canon characters go, I ship her with Beatrice! I am also open to oc pairings, however :D
Good morning, Bullworth! Apologies for the impromptu absence; there's no proper explanation for it, just know that I'm sorry.
Today we're looking at a high near 93°F at noon, with the occasional westerly wind offering a cool breeze at 5 to 7 mph. It is going to be hot and stay hot all through the day, but at least the heat is dry; like I always say, that means you can sweat it off. That has to count for something. :o)
We are so small and so insignificant in the grand scheme of things, and I know that scares some people, but I don't think it's so scary. We are small, we are tiny, and we are bobbing in the ocean, but I don't see the point in resisting it. Don't fight the current; roll over and keep on floating. None of this will matter in the end anyways, so we might as well make the best of it. :o)
"Carmen, what are you going to do with those fireworks? Carmen, why are you trading for fireworks? I thought you were scared of fireworks!"
Nobody's asked that, but I was thinking about it, so here we are! Yes, I am scared of fireworks; I like watching them go off from a safe distance. I don't like lighting them either and I'd rather leave that up to my mom or my granny.
However, I love dickering (or bartering or trading), because I think it's fun! I used to do it all the time back home at the flea markets and yard sales because you'd be surprised how willing people are to just... get rid of stuff. I got an old Star Trek zine for a variegated golden pothos once. I'm in this for the love of the game.
And what I'm doing with the fireworks... I don't know! Maybe I'll keep them, maybe I'll trade them for something else—maybe I'll actually set them off tonight! Who knows! :oD
... Okay, I won't set them off. Fireworks confuse and injure birds. I also don't want to lose a finger. :o(
Good morning, Bullworth! I can't even think of a joke anymore because guess what. It's still hot. We're talking a high of 98°F with a low of 75°F in the early morning. We may get westerly breezes, but at this point, I don't think that'll do much. It's also going to be very, very sunny, with no cloud coverage... hurray.
I think I'm going to see if I can fry an egg in the courtyard. Maybe that'll be my breakfast. :oI
this is technically an ooc post, but i wanted to try and jump on the fragrantica trend with carmen! it was a lot of fun trying to figure out different notes that would fit her, so i hope i did her justice... no clue how good these would smell together in an actual perfume or cologne, but you get the idea ^^'
ANOTHER art fight! I've done a few more I should post those too lmao but when I saw all three of us were on there I knew i had to draw this
@brok33329 @thatoneerrandgirl Brooke
and
@wannabe-eurydice @carwomen Carmen!
(and Kez looking like a total ghoul lmao)
Good morning, Bullworth! You won't believe the weather we have today... it's still sunny, and it's still hot. It's not as hot as it was before, but it's still hot. We're expecting a high near 94°F, though thankfully it's a dry heat (that means you'll be able to sweat off and cool down)!
That doesn't mean my usual advice doesn't apply, though. Remember: drink plenty of water, wear loose, light-colored clothing, and try to limit your sun exposure whenever possible! Roughly 489,000 people die of heatstroke every year!
Hi, Thea! I'm trying to trade my way up to a pack of fireworks, and I wanted to see if you'd have anything you'd want to swap for an mp3 player? It's alright if not, I just wanted to ask. :o]
— @carwomen
I mean..it depends what you consider valuable, you know? I can't just give you something you see worthless..
It doesn't have to be anything big or pricy; the only reason I have the mp3 player is because I traded a sandwich for it! The fun of the trade ladder is seeing what people swap and figuring out where to go from there!
It could literally just be a button and I'd still trade you for it. No problem at all. :oD
I actually don't know! I got it from Remy, and I didn't really think to go through it, so... here we are! I'm sure you could put some of your music on it, though. :o)
