Montreal Murals Mapped

Every year, artists from the world over come to Montreal to expose their talent and creativity upon the city’s vacant walls. Mainly centered around the Plateau area, some pockets of art are spread around the rest of the city, often providing a surprise element when accidentally found by passers-by.

Although an official Murals webpage exists, the map included is not embedded in Google Maps, which I find disappointing. Also, it is hard to distinguish the ‘new’ murals to the older ones, which for the amateurs of this annual street art proves difficult to navigate to.

As such, I wanted to create a Google Map based method of searching through the murals (officially part of the Mural Festival and those not), adding production years where known and pictures (eventually). As an open map, it is meant to be updated live, over time. Link here.
