[ Background ]
Casimir's parents were never in the picture. From the moment he was born he was placed in the foster care system. He often wished of being adopted like many other kids around him were, but as time kept going and he moved from home to home around LA the yearning to find his forever home evaporated.
There wasn't a home that he enjoyed, but he found and cared for a lot of the foster siblings that he did come to know. He found joy in caring for the kids and the older he got the more he wanted to do for them. Cas took it upon himself to protect them from harm at all cost, whether it came from outside the home or within.
School had been something of a fascination for him seeing as it was the only other place aside from the homes where he ever went. Cas was smart, and he enjoyed learning all sorts of new things. High school also came with opportunities for someone like him.
Around sophomore year of high school he was allowed to apply to student jobs at his local high school. He would stay after school and clean classrooms and bathrooms for a monthly wage that helped him save enough money for college.
He didn't have to use the money saved though, because upon graduating high school he was offered a full scholarship to Golden State University where he got his bachelor's degree. After graduating Cas took a couple of years off college to find a job and a place to live as he had aged out of the system by this point in his life.
[ Now ]
After a three year break, Casimir decided to come back to school to extend his education and resume for the work force. Even though his first degree had been enough for him to enter the work force, he quickly learned that for the career he wanted he needed more accomplishments and that he had yet so much to learn.
They enrolled once more, but this time he needed to find a way to pay for his education himself. There was obvious financial support from the government, but he still needed a way to pay for room and board.
Cas has taken a few odd jobs around the school that he shuffles through his studies. These side hustles leave him with enough money to live somewhat comfortably within the university.
[ Personality ]
Casimir is a very sarcastic and loyal person. They are very protective and passionate with their friends, often going out of his way to help with anything that's needed of him. Studying is his life for sure, but when he's not studying he's being a menace around. Cas likes to pass his free time pranking people around the college for a quick laugh. Small elaborate pranks that take time and a bit of effort on his part. He is not malicious in any way, but can have a sharp tongue when approached with attitude or 'superiority'.
[ Wanted plots/connections ]
Platonic - could use a best friend, or just a good friend he feels protective over and would do anything for.
Romantic - the regular smegular, crushes, situationships, fwb, exes etc. etc.
Enemies/nemesis - we can totally plot some drama. I love me some difficult/angry threads
Familiar - foster siblings would be nice! He aged out of the system so it could have been at any point in time. :)
Recent Ex - I think this would be fun and very angsty to thread out on dash. Could be either good or bad terms - we can totally plot it out more.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Keno jokingly takes a few steps back when Casimir stands up. The latterโs about to pull something, he can tell, and he sort of braced himself. โ Throwing parties is fun in theory, โ he replies, checking the time on his phone. โ But never in application, especially the clean-up. โ Heโs such a neat friend, heโll just be barking at people to tidy up and bring their own trash bag.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย After making sure he has his wallet, keys, phone, and book with him, Keno shakes his head at Casimir. โ I donโt have the stuff for it. Thereโs a restaurant near the uni โ itโs my treat. โ He makes a motion towards the door. โ Come on. โ
"True. You are absolutely right, but- and hear me out -" Cas held up a finger to instruct Keno to hold on, "How fun would it be?"
Classes wouldn't officially start for another day or two, and throwing a small 'get together' seemed like the perfect way to begin the year. Also gave him an opportunity to network with the newbies and make some new sales.
"Nah, you ain't got to do that." he said while shaking his head.
Casimir did get and make his way towards the door, but he wasn't about to let Keno pay for his meal. He'll just work a few plays later that night.
"I don't think I've had Ecuadorian food before." he pushed on quickly, switching the conversation, "Maybe I should look up the menu ahead of time. Oh, do you think they have some churrasco? Or is that Puerto Rican? Mexican? Brazilian I think. I want some of that."
"What are you planning on getting?"
Casimir's eyebrows shot up at the comment and he quickly crossed his arms over his chest - head tilting to the side as he smirked.
A comment burning the tip of his tongue, but he held off instead choosing to reach for the keys and lightly push her out the door and closing the door behind them. He'll come have to come back to that later.
"Keeps me busy. Makes the year go by easier." he mused with a shrug.
Getting his work done ahead left him with more than enough time to pick up side jobs throughout the year which wasn't something he easily or willingly said out loud. Cas wasn't ashamed of his financial situation but speaking his truest intentions opened an invitation for further questioning and he'd prefer not to lie to her.
"You're questioning my sperm taste and yet you eat hottie bites with soda?" he clicked his tongue repeatedly and shook his head.
Cas placed his arm over her shoulder as they made their way through the building.
"Seems a little prejudice if you ask me."
His laughter increased as Katherine began to move; Cas attemped to reach over and keep her feet from sliding off him, but was unsuccessful.
"Salty is perfectly healthy, actually." he protested with a large grin as he watched her take a stand, "Sodium is a known element in sperm. Look it up."
They followed behind her, reaching down to gather the pile of books he'd been rummaging through the last couple of hours. Studying anywhere that he went before classes even started.
"Can I drive?" he asked, extending a hand out for her keys. "Oh, maybe we grab some munchies from the corner store too? I need to restock."
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย โ Are you suggesting ramen because the kitchenโs right there? โ Keno asks, looking up from the book in his hand and gazing at Casimir. โ Salty just like your, โ and he pretends to think it over. โ โ Elbow. โ Snorting in amusement, Keno shuts his book and stands up. How long have they been sitting? He lost track. โ You still got the place all to yourself, huh? โ If Keno is honest, he would have liked a single unit โ well, he prefers having his own kitchen. But, itโs not a big deal. โ How about Ecuadorian food? โ Keno mentions, adding, โ Unless youโre super set on ramen? โ
Cas shrugged in response to the question and picked up his phone to check the time as well as see if he had any messages. There were none, but at least it wasnโt too late into the day.
โMy elbowsโฆโ he tested the words with a smirk, โI guess if Iโm sweaty. Want a taste?โ
Before an answer was provided, Casimir pushed off the couch - elbow in the air - as he rushed over to Keno for him to have a taste. He didnโt get too far before halting as a new thought took over.
โYes, sir! Should we throw a party? You got to help me clean up after.โ
All graduates had their own room while sharing other common areas. If he were honest this was his first time having a space all to himself. It wasnโt normal when you came from foster homes. At a good home heโd only share with one other, but more often than not it was three to four per bedroom. However many the parents hosted in their home.
Casimirโs eyes lit up at the suggestion and he nodded intensely, โYou cooking it for me?โ He didnโt know if he could spare to eat out again and wanted to have some extra cash for the T. He visited his last home every Sunday to make sure his siblings were well.
โWow, you're so funny. I feel like, if there's a comedy club in this school then you should definitely join it.. or start one up if there isn't. I don't know how anyone could go a day without hearin' all these hilarious jokes you've hidden under your sleeves.โ Her words being nothing short of sarcasm, but with the way a small grin highlights her features, it's easy to see Savannah's not being malicious with her statement.
โAs for the ramen, I think I might have to pass on that one. I feel like I've been havin' it nearly every day, so I'm all ramen-ed out. I heard there's this little cute sushi place a couple minutes from campus. You wanna try that instead?โ
"Oh totally! I'd put half the students in this school to shame." Cas said, leaning back into the couch once his laugh had ceased.
He could hear the sarcasm in her words and smirked. His 'jokes' were nothing but intrusive thoughts that more often than not won the fight. Thinking before speaking was not a skill he mastered, or really cared to.
Life was funner this way.
Casimir made a face at the mention of sushi, unsure of how he felt about it. It wasn't exactly something he'd tried before. The thought of consuming raw fish brought an instant look of disgust to his features.
"Do they got chicken sushi in there?" he asked after a moment of debating in his thoughts, "I don't want the fish to come after me next time I hit the beach. They'll know I ate their brethren."
โ โฆ Yeah, I could go for some food,โ Verity agrees, already beginning to pack up her belongings โ having spent more than enough time gathering everything she needed from her syllabus: the future of her semester already beginning to give her a headache. Oh, the joys of college.
It's not until she catches wind of the final words that came spurring out of their mouth does her actions stop โ expression deadpan as her gaze rests on him. It takes her a minute to understand the 'joke' but the second she does, Vera's expression instantly fills with disgust. โOn second thought, maybe I'll go eat on my own if it'll spare me from your horrible and far from funny jokes.โ
Cas was far too amused to mind the seriousness of her tone. His laughter still ruling over his insides making it close to impossible to properly speak.
"Why must you hurt me so?" he asked, slapping a hand to his chest as he fell back in feigned agony.
Dramatically as only they could, Casimir shielded himself from her insult. He didn't take her words to heart though - often ignoring the distaste she packed behind them. "Why can't you just accept and love me for me?"
He was hungry however, so brought himself to his feet and reached for his tote bag. The books inside spilling out one by one.
"I'll pay." Cas went on, giving her a large grin. He'd done a couple of extra jobs that last week so he had a bit of wiggle room with his spendings that week.
"Well what should we do then? We have more than enough time to kill. Do you want to go somewhere?"
Cas laid on the couch, turning over to them as he spoke. After what felt like hours of doing homework and their plans to play video games got severely shut down by the constant lag of the internet.
"I wouldn't mind grabbing something to eat if anything." they continued, changing to a sitting position and brushing back the locks of his hair.
"Ramen is cheap and tasty. Salty just like my -" Cas hollered before they could even finish the sentence and slapped at his knee.
