1. How and why did you join kickball? Joined in 2011 with a friend to meet new people and have a great time! Plus I missed playing a team sport. 2. How many season have you played? I think I've played 4. Played 3 seasons for Toot it n boot it at SurfCity and then Bad News Brues at Smash. Have had the best time with all the people I've met through kickball. Never a dull moment.

3. What is your favorite position in kickball? Second is good spot for me. You get some action, get to enjoy the sights, chat and maybe bust out dancing every once in awhile. 4. Best moment in kickball? Probably was last game when I caught a fly ball that was behind me. Pretty impressive. 5. Worst moment in kickball? I'd say this is more of embarrassing moment! My first season playing a ball was kicked high up and was coming straight down towards me. It was scary seeing this red giant thing coming for you. So I did what I thought would save me....scream! Nope didn't work. Did not catch the ball but made a few laughs. 6. League/team with the best looking opposite sex (can be in any other league if you played in others or past players in current league)? Surf City had some good looking people. 7. Favorite drink/shot/beer? Tokyo Tea would be my fav drink, fireball shot, IPAs. 8. Favorite bar? I don't have a favorite local bar. I go where ever the night takes me. The gas lamp district in SD is pretty fun. 9. Favorite song to karaoke to? Hmmmm..It would have to be My Favorite Things from Sound of Music. 10. Interesting fact about yourself? Fun Fact! I won 2nd Place in a grocery bagging contest in high school when I worked at the local grocery store.

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

Games today will be starting at 12PM. Please be on time!

First game will be a friendly game, where players from each team will mix together. Second game will be Bad News Brues vs NKOTB. Our third game, will be the championship game.

Rules for the Championship Game: - No subs will be allowed to play; only those on your roster will be allowed to play - Each team must have at least 4 guys and 4 girls (min of 8, max of 10 players on the field) - Only 5 innings - If the game ends in a tie, the win will be determined by Rock Paper Scissors

1. How and why did you join kickball? Some friends convinced me to join, sounded like random fun and found out it is! Being hammered while playing a sport is definitely a plus

2. How many season have you played? First season

3. What is your favorite position in kickball? I like left field because it offers the most challenge for me. It forces me to run a lot and I get to make highlight-reel-like catches, and drops

4. Best moment in kickball? Kicking a home run and pulling my hamstring, all while being trashed

5. Worst moment in kickball? Dropped a catch, I don't like letting my team down

1. How and why did you join kickball? My coworker told me about it and got me and my son Geno to join.

2. How many season have you played? This is my first season

3. What is your favorite position in kickball? I like to play shortstop, 2nd base and catcher sometimes.

4. Best moment in kickball? During one of our games I caught 2 very high fly balls and got 2 outs in the same inning...It was great!

5. Worst moment in kickball? In our first game i ate shit trying to catch a ball that got away from me...well i got it but then lost my balance and ate it. I skinned up my hands and knees but i still played bloody and all.

6. League/team with the best looking opposite sex (can be in any other league if you played in others or past players in current league)? Everyone looks good!

7. Favorite drink/shot/beer? Love them all...especially shots of JIm Bean, Fireball & Guinness beer

8. Favorite bar? Rocks

9. Favorite song to karaoke to? Crazy by Patsy Cline

10. Interesting fact about yourself? I am almost 50yrs old and I'm the only person that is on a mother and son team. I have been married to the same man for almost 31yrs in March. And I'm having a lot of fun playing kickball.

Name: Kacy Dalton Nickname: ? Team: Bad News Brues

1. How and why did you join kickball? Volleyball was a big passion of mine and I was playing on a recreational league when another teammate told me about kickball. I saw her pictures and I was sold.

2. How many season have you played? This is my first season, but I am playing both on CA Smash Long Beach and CA Surf City in Huntington…busy girl :P

3. What is your favorite position in kickball? First base! Secured my spot there on both teams and I love it. Being right in the center of the action and getting some ball time…was that sentence really dirty or what!?? Hah!

4. Best moment in kickball? My no mercy out at first when my competitive nature kicked in and I chucked the ball full force at that unsuspecting runner! Hah!….Or the week a bunch of my friends showed up and I brought jell-o shots and we all got boozy!

5. Worst moment in kickball? Playing the Surf City League standing at first about to catch a ball and get the runner out and he decided to slide. Cleats straight to my shin…bruised all down my shin and it ruined my kicking for the rest of the night.

6. League/team with the best looking opposite sex (can be in any other league if you played in others or past players in current league)?Oh Snap….Surf City league….drool.

7. Favorite drink/shot/beer? I feel like this is constantly changing depending on my mood…My classic is a vodka tonic, can’t go wrong. Shot- Makers Mark. Beer- Im feelin ginger beer right now, but that’s prob just because of the holidays, or Desperados (a tequila flavored beer that’s impossible to find in the US) or Sierra Nevada…ahhh too many good choices!

8. Favorite bar? Another one of those constantly changing things…love Congregation Ale House in Long Beach for beer, and dive bars are my fave, but Im always on the lookout to try any new places!

9. Favorite song to karaoke to? Summer of 69, Bryan Adams. 10. Interesting fact about yourself? Traveling is my biggest passion in life! I lived in France for an extended period of time and have had the opportunity to travel all over Europe and China. This summer I solo backpacked through the United States and my next trip will be to Costa Rica for the Holidays and then possibly Israel in the summer. When Im not working or out with friends, traveling is all I can think about! I love to couch surf to meet locals, immerse myself with the true experience of the countries, try new foods, and learn new ways of life.

Week 6 Challenges

Bar Challenge: Flip Cup A minimum of 4 players for each team. Winning team gets 5 points, losing team gets 3. Best of 5 rounds. Teams must provide their own beer.

Photo Challenge: Aerial Shot Get a shot of you and your teammates from above! 10 points and must include at least 5 teammates. REMEMBER - picture must be posted on the CA SMASH FB page by the end of the game day!

Week 6 Predictions

NKOTB finally had their first win of the season! They beat Bad News Brues in the first game last week with scores 4-1. Not going to lie, the 2nd game last week was a huge nail biter, with the score 0-0, until the the bottom of the 6th inning. BNB player, Julian, took the risk with 2 outs and kept running, starting at 1st base, and making his way around the bases until he got to home! Shout out to Kacy for making the base hit, allowing Julian to score! Score was 1-0.

Tomorrow's games will still go on. NKOTB has improved a lot over the last few weeks. We'll have to see who'll win.

1. How and why did you join kickball? I joined kickball because I just moved here from PHX and wanted to meet people. I met Elise at bootcamp and she told me about it so I joined. 2. How many seasons have you played? This is my first season 3. What is your favorite position in kickball? I like to play outfield because I can support the in field when needed & I have tiny, tiny hands so catching fly balls is easier 4. Best moment in kickball? The realization that I can actually kick on my first try since 5th grade PE. 5. Worst moment in kickball? Getting smacked in the face by a fly ball. 6. League/team with the best looking opposite sex (can be in any other league if you played in others or past players in current league)? Our team now has some good lookin people on it. Especially that Lucas guy ; ) 7. Favorite drink/shot/beer? Sailor and club soda with lime or a tequila shot. Beer is good too :) 8.Favorite Bar? Perqs 9. Favorite song to karaoke to? Anything pearl jam but I'm versatile 10. Interesting fact about yourself? I'm a Gemini and born naturally on my moms birthday. I can't imagine NOT sharing it with her.

1. How and why did you join kickball? My friend Kacy Dalton, current teammate, showed me that there was a legit kickball league, I had to join. Couldn't miss it! My childhood, reinvented! 2. How many season have you played? This is my very first season. 3. What is your favorite position in kickball? Favorite position would have to be anywhere infield in the 2nd base - short stop - 3rd base area. 4. Best moment in kickball? Hmmm... Dancing and grooving to the music as we play. Hah. 5.
