a full fledged co-conspirator even. the realtor splits the commission with the house, which uses its cut to get asbestos removal, granite countertops, plumbing renovations you name it. the key being the House desires these things for its self. not for its *shudders* occupants.

it's a strong independent entity! it doesn't need a relationship (with freeloaders who scuff its floors). it's single and KILLIN IT! and by "it" let's just say. heh. an entire upper middle class white suburban family

I do want to say - this is a great way to introduce a BBEG HOWEVER. I think it’s super important that you make sure the core of their personality, their goals and desires that get expressed to the party, are always accurate to themselves.

Rourke never expresses any awe or respect for the Atlantians. He never promises to help them, or seem to have any care for their culture or anything like that - and it’s easy to shrug at that from Milo’s perspective because hey! He’s a mercenary, and he’s not the main protagonist! He doesn’t have to care, he just has to watch out for Milo!

And he does!!! Until Milo is at odds with him and getting the job he cared about finished. And that’s the gut punch.

If you’re going to introduce the BBEG, the biggest gut punch is when their betrayal is still completely in line with everything they’ve expressed up to that point. When “differences of opinion” hit a boiling point and suddenly became violent, or when hidden agendas begin to surface and you suddenly realize why they were always so careful in the way they worded their goals.

Okay but for anyone who legit wants to know how to calculate it correctly:

The elbow joint on average rests a couple inches higher than the navel, so if you measure how long the distance is from the middle of the shoulder to that point then you have the length of the upper and fore arms!

So if anyone’s wondering about legs too, the simplest rule of thumb is that the length from the top of the leg to the knee is equal to the distance between the top of the leg and the bottom of the pectorals:

And I wanna stress that when i say “top of the leg” i’m not talking about the crotch (please don’t flag me tumblr it’s an anatomical term) i’m talking about the point where the femur connects to the pelvis, which is higher up on the hips:

So yeah if you use that measurement when using this technique you should get fairly realistically proportioned legs:

But remember! messing with proportions is an important and fun part of character design! Know the rules first so you can then break them however you please!
