I feel like But Daddy I Love Him is the spiritual successor to Love Story. It's like a more mature and independent version of the same story. In Love Story, Taylor is trying to spend time alone with this guy because her father doesn't approve, but in now she's shouting from the rooftops that she loves this man, and she doesn't care what anyone thinks. She's being openly defiant in a way she wasn't in Love Story.

Where Love Story was "Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone", But Daddy I Love Him is "running with my dress unbuttoned, screaming but daddy I love him". Tortured Poets Taylor doesn't care about hiding anymore
