Things I want to remember to look at NEW YEARS EVE Edition
Happy New Year! I've spent this last day of 2014 listening NPR and scrolling through Twitter to get the scoop on the 'best ofs' of 2014 (and a few other interesting tidbits). These are some of the things I want to remember to check out.
Living alone and liking it. Sometimes. http://www.wnyc.org/story/living-alone-and-liking-it-sometimes
In February of this year I got my own place. It took a little while to get used to my first time living alone. I'm staying here in my little studio apartment another year and looking forward to learning more about me. The link above is to an audio stream about the experiences of many others who also live alone. I'm interested to hear how other folks balance the satisfaction the comes from freedom with the inevitable pangs of loneliness.
Clickhole http://www.clickhole.com/
This site is something like a parody of viral content on the internet. It should serve to provide some good laughs when needed.
Run the Jewels https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&es_th=1&ie=UTF-8#safe=off&q=run+the+jewels
A guys on NPR said they produced the years most important hip-hop album. Run the Jewels is comprised of two middle age black men still making music because thats what they love to do. Thats more than enough for me to check it out. You gotta keep on keepin' on.
High Maintenance http://vimeo.com/channels/highmaintenance
Someone said its the best web series of the year or something like that. Cool. I'll watch.
Serial http://serialpodcast.org/
This is old news by now but I still haven't checked it out. Serial is a podcast based on the story of a true murder case. Each podcast is an episode that tells more of the story so you gotta listen in order. It was created by some of the folks from This American Life on NPR.
So, this is my list of things I don't want to forget to look at. Thanks NPR and Twitter and the Internet. Looking forward to another fun year.
