“it’s all good,” she said, shrugging. “i’d hate to get stuck moving all those boxes by myself, so.” then again, what did mari really know about moving? her brothers and uncle had basically moved her in and out of her dorm and she’d been too young to be much of a help when they moved to everwood. “what’s in all these?” she asked, picking up a box and following the other.
“ thank you, i really appreciate your help. “ cass smiled for a moment. “ it’s a bunch of books, i’m trying to do a restock of my store. hopefully get some fresh books on the shelves. “

“You didn’t disturb me” he said and smiled softly. Nodding as he looked towards the store, he sighed softly. “Okay, sounds good. What is in the boxes? If you don’t mind me asking?” he chuckled a little.
“ no, i don’t mind at all. they’re books. “ she answered, walking into the store.

“That sounds like a great idea!” Sydney smiled at her, finding it fascinating when people got ideas like that. “Best of luck with your store, I’m sure people will love it. Where should I put these?”
“ thank you very much, i hope they love it too. you can just put them down where ever you want. i still have to go through most of them. “

Have you heard of it?” Standing up and leaving his crutches leaning against the table along with his book, he walked toward the woman in need of his help. “Really?” Theodore looked down at the boxes with a curious smile. There weren’t many things he enjoyed more than reading and the prospect of a bookstore opening near the bakery was incredibly exciting. “Thank you, I’ll certainly take you up on that once we’re done.” Carefully bending down to pick up one of the boxes, he wobbled a bit as he stood. “Were to?”
“ no, i’ll have to add it to my list. “ cass nodded with a smile. “ of course, you’re helping me, i have to return the favor somehow. “ she followed him, picking up one of the boxes too. “ just right in here, im trying to get them all sorted onto shelves. “

“books…” he looked around in the empty store, the pieces clicking. “oh, this is the bookstore i’ve been hearing about!” he’d been hearing, through the grapevine, of course, about a new bookstore opening—this must be the one. “so is this like, a regular bookstore, or like vintage or secondhand, or what?”
“ people are talking about it ?? well, i guess that’s a good thing. “ she smiled for a moment. “ right now it’s mostly second hand. i’m trying to make it a take a book, leave a book kind of thing. everyone should be able to read whenever they want. “

Austen chuckled, nodding. “I’ll be gentle. Scouts honor.” She said, wrinkling her nose and doing her best to delicately balance the box. With a self-satisfied grin at her success, she followed where the petite girl led. “No worries, sunshine. Least I can do. You work at the book store?”
“ i appreciate that. “ cass smiled, putting the box down on the floor of the store. “ i own it actually. “

“Yeah absolutely!” Sydney said enthusiastically as she picked up a box. “What are all these for, if you don’t mind me asking?”
“ they’re all the books i’ve collected over the years. i’m trying to start up a store, maybe help people find new books that they enjoy. i have so many that i’d love to share with everyone. “

The voice caused Theodore’s gaze to shift upwards from his book. It wasn’t uncommon for people to ask him for help with everyday things despite his condition. Sometimes even Theodore forgot that even at his best, heavy lifting could be a painful chore. “I can certainly try,” Bookmarking his page and shutting his book, he smiled and stood up. “Though to be entirely honest with you, I’m not sure I’ll be the best help.”
“ what book are you reading?? “ cass questioned, looking at the other. “ if you like books that’s what’s in all these boxes...i’m opening up a store you can take a look through them all if you’d like. “

Marina had been walking with her head down, eyes glued to her phone, in a manner that she’d meant to show she didn’t want to be bothered. And she would’ve said no when she was approached, but the other girl was just so damn polite, she couldn’t. “Yeah, sure.” She paused to shove her phone in her back pocket as she smiled at the other. “Where are we taking them?”
“ thank you, i assure you it won’t take too much of your time. just a few minutes, maybe less. “ with a smile, cass picked up the biggest box she could carry. “ if you could just follow me, they’re going right in here into this store. “
