Quando visitai lo studio Disney, curiosando nei vari reparti il mio sguardo si posò per un secondo sul monitor in una postazione di lavoro, come wallpaper c’era Moana! Non sono riuscito a mettere a fuoco, ricordo vagamente quel concept, ma ho ben in mente la sensazione di quando lo vidi. —- When I visited the Disney studio, walking in the various departments my eyes rested for one second on the monitor in a workstation where was Moana as wallpaper! I could not to focus, I vaguely remember that concept, but I well remember the feeling when I saw it.

I hope this isn’t her official design, seems the generic full-face, bug eyes concept used for Rapunzel (I went there lol), Vanellope, The Frozen sisters, and the BH6 girls.

I’m hoping not either. I want something more along the lines of Nani and Lilo- not exactly, I know their homes are different, but something more similar. No more huge eyes please.

Yep!

I wish they’d do it in more of a paperman-ish style so the style of the film would look more distinctive than the past few movies. 

I mean like all of the new Disney films look so similar in style it’s like they could all live in the same world together. But meanwhile with 2D, it’d look more odd to see saaaay Hercules visiting Belle’s village since the animation styles were so different.

This isn’t King Arthur’s Carousel at Disneyland. It is actually the bench in front of the carousel at Griffith Park where he first thought up the idea for Disneyland. He used to watch his daughters ride as he sat there and ate popcorn.

For the scene where the dwarfs are sent off to wash, animator Frank Thomas had Dopey do a hitch step to catch up to the others, as suggested in the storyboard. Walt Disney liked it so much he had the step added to other scenes - much to the chagrin of the other animators, who blamed Thomas for the extra work they had to do.
