NYX-POST-PORN [EXPANDED BODY]
Synopsis "NYX-POST-PORN" is an audiovisual work that investigates the relationship between body, camera and aesthetics in the context of post-porn. The film deconstructs the objectification of the female body and proposes a new sensory and ethical approach to visual pleasure. Capturing fragments of the body in performance, the project questions the boundaries of the gaze and offers an immersive experience of self-knowledge and bodily expansion, proposing a new paradigm of spectatorship in contemporary cinema.
Central Concept "NYX-POST-PORN" is a work that aims to dismantle the conventional narratives of traditional pornography, inserting itself in the field of post-porn. Laura Mulvey, in her text "Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema", approaches traditional visual pleasure as a patriarchal construction that objectifies women for the male gaze, highlighting scopophilia as a central mechanism of this process. The NYX project seeks to subvert this structure, proposing a new paradigm of visual pleasure based on the deconstruction of the objectified body and the creation of an immersive sensory experience, where the viewer is challenged to participate in a new ethical relationship with the filmed body. The camera, instead of dominating the body, creates an intimate relationship with the performer, promoting an organic and collaborative dialogue between body and image.
About the Name
The name "NYX" refers to the Greek goddess of the night, a primordial deity representing mystery and the feminine in its most powerful form. "POST-PORN" places the work in the context of post-porn, an artistic and political movement that seeks to rethink the representation of sexuality.
Creative Process The creative process of "NYX-POST-PORN" is guided by the exploration of the expanded body and the collective dynamic between the performer and the team. The work proposes a corporeal performance that involves female masturbation as a poetic act of self-discovery and empowerment. The interaction between body and camera is fluid, naturalizing the performative act and deconstructing the taboo of female sexuality. The stages of the creative process range from the energetic activation of the team, through the preparation of the scenario with lights and sensory elements, to the capture of the fragmented performance and the subsequent account of the experience lived by the collective body. This collaborative process is essential for creating an immersive and collective experience, where each team member actively participates in the aesthetic and emotional construction of the work.
Visual Style and Tone Soft and diffused lighting, creating an ethereal and sensory atmosphere. Fluid and organic camera movement, creating a sense of intimacy and expansion. Natural body sounds, amplified breathing, composed soundtrack in official version and ambient sound, reflections in multicam version.
Performance Stages
The performance is structured in six distinct moments that guide the sensory experience and fragmented capture of the body in movement, creating a non-linear narrative of pleasure and self-discovery: The Body as Landscape, Touch and Breath, Breath and Tension, Fragmentation of the Act, Fragmented Climax and Post-Climax.
