To finally break the bond - a spell

This is a very gentle, non-aggressive spell to help you break the bond with someone who meant a lot to you, whose relationship with you is now over but the closure is still needed.

Gather the following:

🌹Paper

🔪Envelope (you can create your own with paper, it doesn’t need to be fancy)

🌹Pen

🔪Blue candle: communication, truth, peace, calm, understanding

🌹Yellow candle: manifesting thoughts, used in rituals when it’s needed to convince someone, or gain their trust

🔪Jasmine: promotes peace, repels fights, protects from external influences.

🌹Sigil, I’ll be using one that I created. It’s for “wish you the best, now get out”

1. Light the blue candle with intent, imagine everything you do and say, they’ll notice.

2. Now light the yellow one, imagine they notice that you’re officially out of their lives.

3. Press the jasmine, put it in a big book, and put books over that one.

4. Now write the sigil on a paper, you can write other stuff too but make it as positive as you can. We don’t wanna curse or make the other person get a bad vibe from us, we just want closure and for them to notice we’re gone.

5. Grab the jasmine and tape it to the paper, it can be over the sigil, if you’re a closeted witch you can cover the sigil and it’ll just look like a pretty envelope with a pressed flower.

6. Now put the paper in the envelope and seal it with both candles, pour wax from one, then the other, and keep doing this until you feel closure is basically happening. Until you’re okay with the fact that they won’t come back. This takes a lot of meditating and intent, so make sure you don’t rush the spell!

7. Put the envelope in your windowsill at night, preferably on a night of full moon (magic, cleansing, banishing, clarity) and let it sit there until you wake up. You’ll wake up feeling renewed, and lighter. You don’t have this burden anymore!

Breaker Curse

This isn’t a curse for your cheating ex. Use for someone who needs to harshly and physically suffer for their wrongdoing. Not to be used lightly. 

Ingredients:

Poppet (here’s how to make one)

Needle and Thread

Knife

Rusted Nails

Assorted Nasty Things (like rotten food, red pepper, rusted nails, dead insects, fungus, black pepper, rock salt, hot sauce, etc. etc.)

Item(s) of the person you intend to curse - the more well-connected items you can get the better (their name, their hair, nails, dirt from their yard, something that they own, etc.)

Method:

Partially build your poppet. Fill with items of the target. As you stitch together and fill your poppet, name it and tell it firmly who it is meant to represent and what its purpose will be. Something simple like: “I make you and name you ____. You are made to stand in, in body and mind, for _____ and will help them to suffer for his wrongdoing.” 

Once your poppet is sewn shut and activated, give it eyes, a mouth, a heart, and genitals. Cut its mouth open roughly and force feed the poppet the disgusting refuse that you compiled reminding it that this is to cause internal physical and emotional turmoil and pain. 

Stitch its mouth shut again and make clear that the target is not able to speak of its pain. Feel free to mutilate the poppet’s body as you see fit, always making clear that what you do to it you intend to happen to your target. 

Finally, using a rusted nail, pierce the poppet’s heart and over the course of three days nail it further into the poppet’s heart until it is “dead.” Then, remind the poppet of its job and then bury it in your target’s yard (if you can), hide it in a tree, or bury it somewhere off of your property.

How to Break In a New Tarot Deck

Most decks have the same standard 78 cards, but every deck is still a little different! The art, the energy, each new one can take a little getting used to. So here are some ways to do it!

Deck Interview spreads. These are really popular, so let’s go ahead and get them out of the way. There are tons of spreads available online that answer questions like, “What is your energy?” “What are your strengths as a deck?” “What kind of questions do you have trouble with?” “What can I learn from using you?” You can also just make your own! But doing a practice reading and getting the deck to say a little about itself can be very handy.

Look at it. Seriously, give it a good hard look. Spend some time on every card, seeing how the art makes you feel and what small details may support or enhance the meaning. The art will take a more nuanced approach or interpretation of the card beyond the few general keywords. For example, does the “Death” card focus more on the ending, or the renewal? Does the end look bitter?

Carry it around. Put it in your bag when you head out. Take it with you on trips. Even if you don’t plan on using it, have it on hand… just in case. Share memories with it, bond with it. Get comfortable with the presence of it.

Use it! Naturally! Eventually, you’re going to have to use it to break it in. You can’t break in shoes if you never walk in them. While I’m still getting used to the nuances of a deck, I won’t use them for my big complicated spreads right away, but I might use them for little things until I feel like I can use it for ones that take more brain power. Even if you’re an experienced reader, it’s okay to not jump in head first with complicated stuff on a brand new set of cards. There’s no rush!

Oil To Haunt The Thoughts

Gather elder blossoms, myrtle flowers, and forget-me-nots.  Hang the flowers upside down until they are drained of moisture. Put them into a jar.  Fill the to the top of the jar with a carrier oil. I suggest virgin olive oil, but many prefer other kinds of oil, like jojoba. “Spirit of the blossoms shift,   let this philter be sly and swift.   To them send the thought of me  in the sentiment I bid it to be.” Cap it and put it in a dark place for two weeks. Shake once or twice per day. Once it is done, strain the oil from the herbs. Throw out the blossoms and keep the oil. You can use it on someone in a few different ways. This is mainly used for romantic thoughts, but it can be used for other purposes as well. Wet your finger with it and write their name on a piece of paper, fold it, and keep it. Write their name with ink and rub the oil across it. For a more lasting, potent enchantment, drop one of their possessions into the oil and let it stay there. The oil must then be discarded when the spell has faded.

Southern Black Candle Curse

Write the offending person’s name on a piece of paper to place underneath the candle. Dampen the candle and roll it in saltpeter, pepper, salt, and cayenne. Call out the person’s name and the desired effect as you place nine pins into the candle and burn at nine o’ clock at night or at any uneven hour.

I don’t really know what people generally call this method of sigil making, so I’m just calling it “Letter Shaping” because you’re using the basic shapes from certain letters. This is the most common form of sigil making, and it allows the most creative influence. As you see above the sigils are for nearly the same thing, yet the sigils came out completely different. Not because the purpose was different, but because I approached them both a different creative way, and that’s what I like so much about this method. There’s a lot of freedom and personalization involved.

Persephone

Persephone is the Goddess of Spring and Queen of the Underworld. She is the daughter of Zeus and Demeter and the wife of Hades. Her lore is possibly one of the most controversial and well known in Greek mythology. However, no matter the story she is known to be even stricter and far less forgiving than her husband. 1 lemon

1 long nail

Cut lemon in half, place paper on lemon, add other half of lemon so the paper is sandwiched,  drive nail through the lemon and paper while focusing on the intention of making their life sour and painful. Throw that shit in the trash.

So, in honor of midsummer and the summer solstice I’ve teamed up with @witches-of-ouroboros and will be posting some seasonal witchy libations! First off is the most time consuming component of one of my cocktails, an infusion for summer vodka. Really it can be made or drank anytime if you have the ingredients and the time.

Supplies: rose petals and buds, chamomile, and elderflower, vodka, and a Mason jar. The amount of each varies depending on the size of the Mason jar, but for the purpose of my example, I will be using an 8oz Mason jar.

Clean the jar well, even if it’s new. Hot water, soap, more hot water until all the soap is gone, and because I’m me, I pour a little vodka, and a splash of absinthe and swirl this all through the jar an lid both to give a final disinfection and, the absinthe adds a little more magical oomph. But absinthe is a topic for another day;)

I measured my dried* roses about a third if the way in the jar. Next a heaping tablespoon of chamomile, and another of elderflower. I added another few rose buds so it was just below the halfway point. Top with vodka until you get a little bit below the rim! Close tightly and shake once a day for the next 5-7 *dried flowers and herbs infuse faster and use up less space than fresh. If you have access to a large amount of fresh, food safe flowers and herbs for your infusions, have at it!

Almost forgot, taste it after five days and see if you want it stronger. It should have a delicate but noticeable flavor. Strain and store in a clean jar.

Roses have had their fair share in the histories and cultures. Used in love spells, prosperity and other rituals, the focus and intent of roses actually comes from a Greek legend concerning Aphrodite, the rose was created when the foam of the sea fell off her naked form, and her tears dyed the roses red. The rose represents a duality in love. Love of self, and love of another. New love and lost love.

Elderflowers are used to relieve emotional burdens and that feeling of being stuck, creating joy, and inviting prosperity and health into your life.

Chamomile is added for purification, prosperity and tranquility.

Roses are associated with water, vodka with earth, elderflower with the sun, and chamomile with fire.

I had so much fun with this recipe. I made the vodka, let it infuse for about five days, and then went ham on some cocktails and Jell-O shots.

I made a solstice cocktail with rose and cardamom syrup, soda water, and lime. The Jell-O shots were made with raspberry jello and lime juice.

Here’s a bonus shot of the rose and cardamom simple syrup in progress. Besides being pretty and a delicious combination, cardamom and sugar are both associated with love and lust. Combined with the love and protection of rose, this syrup gave the vodka a potent love boost for solstice.

Reddening the Bones…

The act of Reddening is legendary and perhaps even Palaeolithic in origin, it is the art of giving life to an inanimate object through the use of blood or a blood-like substance, or can be used as part of a rite for Calling a Spirit Back to  objects such as bones (total coverage is not always needed, sometimes I just redden a small part of the skull of smaller animals, such as my Crows), but it can also be used as an act to sanctify and make an object sacred.

I don’t know how many tumblr witches know, this could be old news, but I found that this is the best place to get jars/bottles to feed my obsession! They have a bunch of different colors, but most of them are clear. They have different shapes and such, and they’re very very cheap, even the jugs !! In their FAQ they said it’s fine to even order just 1 bottle at a time, even though most people order a bunch at once. It’s honestly the best deal on high quality bottles and jars that I’ve found so far! I would honestly skip Amazon and go straight here. 10/10!
