SOME FUN FACTS
ok so cat is a new character, so bare with me while i figure her out !! she has less info for sure, but we'll get there lmao
essentially, cat is a wannabe manhattan socialite who sugar babied a bit too close to the sun, and ended up married
her husband is much older, extremely rich (i imagine he works in finance), and spends most of his time traveling for work and leaving her alone in their gigantic house
he really just wanted a pretty young wife on his arm and found cat
before she got married, she was a bit of a micro influencer, nothing where she'd be recognized or had brand deals or anything, but it got her in a few doors and some PR gifting and the likes
she went to school for interior design, she was not super well off, hence the sugar babying to pay for her manhattan lifestyle (since the interior design never took off)
personality wise, she's extremely flirtatious and charming, extremely persuasive, but can be stubborn and competitive and is not at all good at taking responsibility for things. some people may say she's lazy, but she'd probably say she just enjoys indulging in her pleasures or something along those lines
CONNECTION IDEAS
more to come as i figure her out more but to START
people she flirts with (or potentially more?) - i highly doubt cat is loyal to her husband, so give me flirting, emotional affairs, actual affairs if the chemistry is there
and tbh i imagined her husband as an npc but if it's something that's calling to you for the plot, hmu
friends from nyc and her partying sugar baby past !!!
people who judge her for her old rich husband - i figure people must assume she's a gold digger (she is), so give me all the judging and tense relationships that come from that
along with that, perhaps people who would be more on her husbands side ?? family, friends, business associates, etc etc? i love an antagonistic relationship what can i say
and as always, if you have any ideas that cat could fit, hmu bc i'm always down !!
Who: Anyone
Where: Asbury Hotel (Rooftop Cinema)
Cap: 4/5
"Thought they were playing Mean Girls tonight—" CJ sighed out the menthol that surely wasn't allowed within whatever foot radius, the balcony's edge distance enough. Obligated to explain himself to the nearest ear why he'd stick around being the lone single guy smoking up a storm watching The Parent Trap with all the families and their little ones running amuck, "Love me some Lilo." he said through a light laugh. "Not ten year old Lilo though—you know, just uh, gotta get that out there."
Cat turned to raise an eyebrow at CJ, her lips pursing out a little bit. "I don't think you could've made yourself sound any creepier if you tried," she said, a low laugh falling from her lips after the words, a teasing lilt coming to her voice. "And to be honest, I'm not quite sure Mean Girls would make you look any better than Parent Trap."
Alex stood outside The Asbury Hotel, squinting at the revolving doors like they were his arch-nemesis. How many times had he been here this week? Four? Five? He'd lost track. At this point, the front desk staff probably thought he was lurking around the place for a heist—or worse, a Yelp reviewer.
He tugged at his perfectly ironed, oatmeal-colored button-down and checked his Tissot watch, even though he wasn’t meeting anyone. Okay, Alex, he thought. You just need to get inside, blend in, and no one will question why a random guy is inspecting the cornices again.
To be fair, this wasn't his fault! He was sent here to find out how the fuck The Asbury Hotel had managed to capture that effortlessly cool boutique hotel vibe, and it wasn’t like you could just Google “how to make a hotel look cool without spending the next Avatar movie budget.”
Spotting someone in front of the hotel, Alex saw his opportunity. He walked toward the person, flashing the most non-threatening smile anyone could muster. "Hey, are you heading inside?" he asked, voice an octave too high with fake casualness. "I, uh, forgot something in the lobby the other day." Which wasn’t necessarily a lie — he'd actually forgotten to inspect the ceiling beams up close.
Cat's head angled to one side, an eyebrow raising up as a smirk played against her lips, the false casualness from the male not going unnoticed by her in the slightest. She didn't know what was going on, but she was absolutely not the type to just let it slide by. Even if she was there for less than...above the board reasons herself. Whatever. "Did you?" she drawled, no inflection of a question in her voice as she spoke. "You know, you could just...head inside yourself? If that's the case?" she said, a flutter of her lashes accompanying the words.

location: an estate sale on pine street
when: early afternoon on a sunday
Nancy feared that she'd missed out on all the good stuff, the creaky Victorian home already picked clean of vintage fashion and worthwhile jewelry. Dammit, she knew she should've sucked it up and not slept in for once in her life. Still, she wandered around, poking at random clutter with dull fascination (who wanted a dead woman's retro vacuum?), before finally spotting the one thing that could make this entire venture worthwhile: a bed. Well, she didn't really care about the tacky headboard plastered in velvet, but the mattress. Nancy circled around the bed, pressing down on the plastic-covered surface to test the springs. If she could replace the futon at her place... Her head cocked in the direction of someone entering the master bedroom, still eyeing the mattress while asking, "D'you think she croaked in her sleep?"
Estate sales were one of Cat's favorites. Not only was there lingering high quality decor that was so hard to find on the market, but there was a whole life to judge. And damn if that wasn't one of her favorite things to do. Sunglasses still on, she sauntered through the house, finally ending up in the master bedroom, lips pursing out as she took it in, not phased at the presence of another person already there. If there was something she really wanted, she could undoubtably dig into her husband's bank account to win any sort of bidding war that occurred. Until the women spoke, a curl coming to her lips at the question. "Surely it wouldn't have been left for sale if she did," Cat said with a shrug, reaching out and running a finger over the wood of the dresser. "Seems like...a biohazard or something if you ask me."
Be extra… Wear high heels around the house, spend money on luxurious sleep wear, buy that unnecessary home decor that you love, keep a glass carafe by your bedside, have a specific skincare routine for morning and night, cultivate your dream wardrobe and have a personalized scent. Focus on the little details of your life… make them intentional and magical.Â
