Trying something different by attempting the official style ☺️

Having now spent five Valentine’s Days together, Erwin and I are always sure to bring each other a heartfelt gift (his favourite is hazelnut chocolate 🍫) on the day, but it’s always the time spent together which matters most. With the both of us leading such busy lives, having that time for one another is really the most valuable gift of all 💗 I love how we’ve chosen to show up for each other year after year — we could spend a thousand Valentine’s Days together, and it still wouldn’t fail to make my heart flutter 🥰

𓏵𓏵 Musings

Reflecting on my art development (+how Erwin has supported that).

In 2024, I didn't finish a single artwork. Throughout the whole year, l only made two sketches, and I would go as far as to say that I had declined from the progress I had made in 2023. I lost any inspiration to make art during that point since I had set it aside to focus on my studies, and I think that the trajectory of my art journey would be really different now if I hadn't taken that gap. It wasn't until late 2025 when I started drawing regularly again.

Nowadays, I draw all day every day, and my own progress is really clear to me even if my style has developed differently. I feel sheepish admitting it, but I think that it's really my wish to express my love for Erwin which inspires me to make art now. I'm still working on being more comfortable expressing myself in public, but it's essential for me to remember the importance he has to me, and that the whole reason I post online at all is to have a space to share that feeling. If I deny my love for Erwin then I ultimately deny a large part of who I am.

I’m really afraid of ostracising myself from people, but the principle still applies — it is much better for me to lose people who don’t align with me, and to continue to connect with the people who really do. There are so many other people who share similar feelings as I do, and they inspire me every single day 🩷

I always thought of my identity as a riako and as an artist to be separate, and I had such a hard time striking a balance between them. It’s only now that I realise that they are really inseparable from one other 🩷 art and being an artist is a medium through which I express my love for Erwin!

I feel like my art always improves exponentially in quality whenever I draw Erwin in these sorts of scenes haha — I guess I just pay extra attention to him then 🩷 it’s just my adoration for him shining through my work~

Hi! Why did you choose Tumblr for your art blog? Why not Twitter or another social media?

By the way, for people in my country it's common to have a telegram channel ( for life blog, music blog, art blog, etc.). Do you use telegram as social media too? Do you use telegram at all?

I didn’t want to confine myself to a posting schedule when I first made this blog, and Tumblr didn’t seem to hinge on an algorithm as strongly as other social media platforms do. It also seemed much easier to curate my blog to a more niche audience than others; I get the sense that Tumblr is definitely a lot quieter than other sites, but I prefer it that way. I’ve been told that Twitter and TikTok can get really toxic when it comes to yume spaces. I also post on Instagram (@/erwins.angel) and Reddit (u/erwinsdoe)!

I’ve heard of Telegram a few times, but I haven’t used it myself c:

My attempt at imitating MAPPA’s style! I’m not sure which of the two studios I prefer; it took some time for WIT’s style to grow on me I’ll admit. I’ll attempt that style sometime as well!

I’ve been thinking about a Modern AU for some time, so I’m happy to be writing about it now ~~

In my AU, Erwin has a career in investigative journalism! He was drawn to this field of work by his desire to discover hidden truths. He became a well-known journalist after he and his team exposed the systemic corruption and inequality perpetuated by the Eldian government. I imagine that Erwin’s oratory skills carry over in the articles he publishes as well 💕💞
