Welcome to a new masterlist for active, indie Final Fantasy roleplay blogs! If you are an indie Final Fantasy RPer and would like to be added to a masterlist of active RPers to help make it easier for people to find partners, please either reblog this post or send us an ask. Multimuse blogs are welcome as long as at least one main or secondary muse is from a Final Fantasy game. OCs that are based in a Final Fantasy game, or who have a major verse for one, are welcome as well!

My favourite Studio Ghibli film that actually predates Studio Ghibli is Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. I even have the boxset of the manga Miyazaki did to originally get the movie made in the first place. š

Sterling takes a sip of his beverage, a thoughtful hum leaving him after. Lowering the mug from his lips, he gives a light nod in acknowledgement of her words.
"You're not far off. I won't lie and say every case is a life changing endeavor but it's exciting nonetheless. Your novels may be fantastical but they're not so farfetched that some of the events that take place in them aren't a possibility. Anything is possible in my line of work and I believe that's what makes it truly exciting." Another sip. "Who's your favorite mystery author, if I may ask?"
Oh, what a fun question!
"Perhaps a cliched answer, but Agatha Christie. She wasn't the Queen of Crime for nothing," says Laelia, a playful smile on her lips. "And it isn't a book series, but the Murder, She Wrote tv show is a favourite of mine."
"You also like Castle, but that's partly because of Nathon Fillion," chimes in Cataleya, doing her best to appear innocent despite the accusation.
She blinks, surprised by her daughter's comment. "Iā No, you're right..."
Truly, the man is a talented and handsome actor.
"Do you have any favourites?" Laelia asks, turning the question back to their guest. "Or does working in the field affect reading books like that?"
moon and earth
"Thats good." She was happy, or said she was. Still, he barely knew this girl. At her question he was somewhat confused, was he too bold in what he said? Was that why she asked that.
"Hm, I wouldn't say I thought about this a lot, I think about a lot of things really."
In this case, family, not family, one could be raised by blood or by those who weren't of blood and it could be a good or bad upbringing either way. People were people and it was people he saw. Good people, bad people. Those who seemed bad but were in fact good, those who seem good but are bad. Nothing was linear though in his experience most were shitty people.
"Not so much how family affects someone, but I guess how people affect other people. Could be family, could be people who aren't family. You seemed to be raised by your family and from what I can gather and I barely know you, but you do seem happy. Happy with them, to follow your father to a degree and happy with where you are now. Not everyone is lucky in that regard."
"I don't think you're being presumptuous." Still he couldn't help but wonder if he said too much.
She was lucky, if what she said was true.
So, it seems Cataleya's guess wasn't too far off the mark.
"It's true, not everyone is lucky enough to have family who are good to them. It's something I'm thankful for. Same with having good friends."
Both things make her think of Malcolm. A close family member was not good to him, and her dear friend still carries those hurts. But, despite that, he does his best to be good to those he cares for, like her. And in turn, she cares deeply for him and gave him a place in her chosen family.
Perhaps she's naive, but she still tries to believe in the good in people.
She smiles, shrugging. "People sure can be complicated but interesting at the same time, yeah?" Francis is definitely coming across as such.
Rantaro isn't one to enjoy a lot of attention being drawn to himself, so Cataleya's Father's Day gift to him yesterday was a model kit that he can work on in his free time.
"Ah, I fear we are in the same boat then."
Percival let out a chuckle. He had just been browsing the menu, trying to decide what drink was the most likely to satisfy his cravings. He hadn't been to this cafe before; he'd wanted to go earlier, but the watch had kept him busy and he only got the opportunity to actually go in today.
The menu had plenty of good sounding options; teas, smoothies, plenty of hot and iced coffees... well, he wanted a coffee, that was for sure, but did he want a cappuccino? A latte? Did he want any syrups?
"Hmmm... Perhaps a lavender latte... I do enjoy those, normally... though the peach matcha does sound good... but no, a coffee... maybe a cappuccino with a shot of butterscotch..?" He glanced at the other. "Have you decided yet? Perhaps you can help me make up my mind."
"I think I've narrowed it down, anyway," Cataleya says with a soft laugh.
Fitting with the theme of being inside a flower shop, many of their drinks feature some unique floral flavours. And a few of those got her attention.
"They have other flower simple syrups, like in the lavender latte you were thinking about." She looks back up at the menu hanging from the ceiling. "Orange blossom would be really nice. I've had drinks made with rose syrup before too. But I'm also really wondering what violets taste like..."
In reality, she might not be that much better off than him... And she also has yet to consider what treat she will order to go along with her drink.
Aki rested her head on the girlās lap, letting the stranger pet her head. A rarity for the demon dog, but Cataleya was just in a life or death situation so she was willing to make an exception. Kaiden looked at her companion and then to Cat. āIt was no problem, weāre just doing our job.ā she replied with a gentle smile.
Job or not, it was still extremely lucky that Kaiden was passing by the area. She hates to think what wouldāve occurred had Aki not caught the Jorogumoās scent.
Something about the whole ordeal didnāt sit right with the hunter however. Jorogumo didnāt usually chase down their victims, or chase them down with such persistence. Everything Kaiden knew about them, they preferred ambush hunting. Luring their victims in and then striking.Ā
It was not the time to bring up such concerns, right now Kaidenās focus needed to be on the girl sitting in front of her.
āIs it alright if I check you over for bites? And then I promise weāll get you home.ā
The gentle weight of Aki on her lap is comforting, true, as is being able to run a hand through the dog's fur. And the hunter's reassurance helps.
Still, she isn't out of the woods yet.
"Bites?" Cataleya echoes.
For a moment she questions if all the panic somehow made her forget that she was bitten. She doesn't feel hurt aside from where she hit the ground. But, this woman seems to know best, so she gives a slow nod.
"...Do you need me to stand up or anything?"
"Yup, that's my name. And these two are Connor and Damian." He motioned to his drummer and bassist to gave Cataleya a little wave and a nod.
With the crowd of people slowly dispersing, Jacks motioned for her to follow him to the bar where he ordered himself and her a beer.
"Since I've been like five. A family friend taught me how to play aucoustic, then I got into punk and metal. Shit was more addictive than heroin." He chuckled out a small snort. "The dude who taught me was punk. Imagine being a little shit and meeting a guy who doesn't give a shit about what anyone says or thinks about him. Who looks cool, doesn't stress about everything and owns a dog. I wanted to be like him." He took a swig. "What got you into the music?"
Though Cataleya's surprised by Jacks trying to lead her elsewhere, she makes sure to wave to his friends and quickly say that it was nice to meet them. After all, the three of them combined make awesome music.
Oh, he's going to the bar...
For a moment, she feels awkward, and almost tries to whisper to him that she can't drink ā at least not publicly ā yet but remembers that her birthday was recent. So recent that she forgot about it for a moment.
So, with that crisis averted, she accepts the beer with a smile.
"Oh, that's really cool..." She muses after taking a sip of her drink. "Well, I've loved music in general ever since I was little thanks to my mom. But as far as this kind of music goes, I've only really learned about the local scene recently because of a friend. The concerts are like nothing else!"
Such a raw and infectious energy is difficult to not enjoy, she thinks.
NausicaƤ of the Valley of the Wind (1984)
"Mm, that is very true for our hero. Rarely a moments rest, and then the world needs you again." A small jest of course. But it was true. Just when they thought they could relax for even a little bit, something new arises and they are once again called into a new adventure or far off place.
"You are not wrong. That key is indeed special. The key was given to us for safe keep, rather you. But was it not Kriles parents who were in charge of it before, or should I say the people on Treno." As they had learned that it was them who used the key prior, and were the guardians that had kept the key safe.
As for its true origins. Well. With what has happened recently, and what she has been told by the warrior of light herself. There is more to be uncovered. "I believe that the truth will reveal itself in our next endevor. Or more to you, I think. I have no doubt that it is somehow connected to Azems crystal you carry, especially since it reacted to the key."
In truth, it's not that Cataleya lacked the words to explain her feelings about the key. It's that speaking them aloud felt that she would be manifesting something that even she isn't sure she is ready to face yet.
Azem's legacy.
Her cheery smile doesn't entirely fade, but it's clear there's something on her mind now. "...The clues do seem to point to that, don't they?"
Reaching into one of her pockets, she retrieves the orange crystal, cradling it in her hands. The sun symbol it bears is just like what she saw when the key activated of its own accord while in Living Memory.
"Such a possibility leaves me feeling equal parts excitement...and fear."
