What headcanons do you have about Remy? I like the way he’s characterized in Make Worse What Was Already Pretty Bad
Thank you! I'm glad you've been liking his characterization so far!
I like to think Remy likes kids and generally wants to treat them better than he had been treated when he was a child but definitely in sort of a 'fun uncle' kind of way. I don't think Remy would ever have kids of his own -- I think he's a little too used to the only child mindset and being the center of attention to be able to take care of another human being. There's still that part of him that likes showing off and the awe that children throw his way when he's able to wave cash around to get them whatever they want makes him feel important.
Related to that, I think Remy desperately craves socialization and connection but struggles a lot with actually making meaningful relationships (so, you know, canon basically lol). A part of that is because he doesn't really know what that looks like. So in my fic, I have him doing these annual get togethers and dinners to maintain his 'friendship' with people he tangentially grew up with but he's not really friends with anyone. And then another element of that is because it's exactly the same things his parents did so Remy figured that's just what you do, right?
Remy is still terribly out of touch with anything that's not in his social status. Sorry guys. This is still a man who asks how much a banana could possible be and turns his nose on anything lower than first class.
I don't want to say too much for fear of spoilers in the fic, but the vindictive and ruthless part of Remy is still there -- just less prominent and he's gotten even better at hiding it.
