“If anyone needs help identifying which date screams midlife crisis, I’m offering my services,” she said sweetly. “Pro bono, of course. It’s for charity.”

Gideon's hardly surprised that she looks at home in this scene. Given her best friendship with his long-ago ex and current Queen (some might say Dictator) of TWI, and the thick skin that comes from handling Lara's Underground business, Catalina is well primed to thrive on both the drama and the chaos that this night promises in spades.
So it may be self-interest that has him sidling up to her, as soon as the bids start going up on the board. "C'mon Cat, spill." His voice drops to a conspiratorial whisper. "... How much money does it take to get myself out of a disastrous match?"
Catalina loved being amongst a huge crowd. It was when she was in her element the most. When she heard Gideon's voice, she took a sip of her champagne and turned to him, a smile playing on her lips. “Disastrous?” Catalina echoed, feigning concern. “Oh Gideon, if the universe wants to stick you at dinner or on a trip with someone who can’t stand you or vice versa…”
She shrugged lightly.
“Who am I to interfere with destiny?” She asked, winking at him conspiratorially. "No, but seriously, I think it depends on the person."

Where: Rendevous Who: Open to all When: Feb 2nd Catalina lifted her glass and smiled at the person next to her. “Let’s play a game,” she said lightly. “Two truths, one lie. I’ll go first—or you can be brave and volunteer.”
She hummed her agreement, knowing exactly what Catalina meant. Though she was sure the woman got out more than she did, Nevra couldn't fault her for wanting to relax more. "Dance, drink, knock someone out. Whatever it takes, right?" Her personal preference for letting off steam consisted of mats beneath her feet and the sound of her blood rushing through her ears as she sparred at the gym.
Nevra drifted in their area, matching Catalina's movements. "What is it you do when you're not at the bar or at an event?" She was still a bit of a mystery to the Turk, even six years in.
Catalina chuckled, the sound low and warm as she tilted her head, watching Nevra through a curl of smoke from someone’s cigarette nearby. “Whatever it takes,” she echoed, amused. “That’s a motto I can get behind.”
Her hips swayed in rhythm, eyes glinting red under the lights. “Me? When I’m not working…” She gave a small shrug. “I drive too fast. Sleep too little. Sample the product more than I should.” The admission came with a smirk, not an ounce of shame. “Life’s short, cariño. I like feeling it.”
She leaned in just enough to be heard over the bass. “Sometimes that means a hit, sometimes a high, sometimes a night that goes too late. I don’t do stillness well.”
Then, with a teasing lift of her glass, “And if I ever do sit still, it’s probably because someone finally talked me into it.”
"And what about you?"
Party favors. Hitting on hot men and women. Dancing.
Her pulse thudded hard against her ribs. That was not something Amélie could see herself doing unless she downed more of those fruity drinks they were serving behind the bar. And even then...it'd be a push.
"Ah…ha, about that...well, I...hm, I—" The words jammed in her throat. You can speak. You can breathe. Don’t make a scene. "I don’t think I’m… very good at hitting on anyone.” a humourless laugh. "Or party favours.” Cheeks warming instantly. Oh god, this is so damn embarrassing "blooming as she added, "I’m not really the… um… 'spicy' type." maybe this wasn't the person that was going to get her through the night.
"Are you...having fun, at least?"
Catalina’s laugh was soft but genuine, not mocking — the kind that seemed to melt away a little of the awkwardness between them. “Ay, you’re too cute,” she said, shaking her head lightly. “Don’t worry, mi vida, not everyone’s meant to hit on half the guest list. Some of us just provide the chaos so the rest of you don't have to.” She says with a wink.
She took a sip of her drink, eyes scanning the crowd before turning back to Amélie with a conspiratorial smile. “Tell you what,” she said, leaning in a little closer. “We’ll make it a game. You and me — people watching. You pick someone, and I’ll tell you what kind of mess they’re getting into tonight. Then it’s my turn.”
Catalina grinned, her tone light but inviting. “No pressure. No shots. Just a little harmless observation. You can stay tame, and I’ll stay trouble. Deal?”
The gentle tug to his hand had Oscar grinning as well. More than happy to be pulled along by this beautiful Latina. Whispering under his breath as his free hand fixed his helmet, "Que lindo..." As she said he was dedicated, the bodyguard couldn't help but chuckle. Even if it wasn't his normal job, he was always prepared to stop a fight and rescue Yvonne; even off duty. The crowd closed in around them, lights flashing red against the dark line of his jaw. His hands settled at her hips—steady—guiding her easily into the beat she’d already claimed. When she leaned in, Oscar pulled Catalina closer, "Wouldn't be in this line of work if I didn't," he smirked, flicking one of her horns playfully, "You seem like you live for a little mitote and a side of chisme."
Her laugh slipped out, low and warm, barely audible over the thrum of the bass. “Mitote y chisme?” she echoed, eyes glinting as she moved with him, their rhythm finding a natural sync. “Please. That’s That's my bread and butter.” She couldn't help giving him a teasing smile. "Am I that easy to read?"
His fingers brushed her hip again and she smirked, leaning just close enough for her perfume — smoky, sweet, and a little wild — to fill the space between them. “But I won’t deny it,” she added, voice playful, “I do like a little noise… keeps the night interesting.”
The bartop was nice and cool against Oscar's back. He’d been sitting a few stools down. Nursing one of those poison apple cocktails and watching the crowd ebb and sway. Yet when the devil he knew, in red no less, started talking about burning the place down, Oscar finally pushed off his seat.
"Careful, diabla," he said as he came up beside her, a flicker of a grin cutting through the low light, "Talk like that, people might start praying and getting along," the sarcasm was thick in his tone.
He set the concoction down, nodding toward the dance floor where the bass was rolling like thunder, "Let’s see if you can handle a little hellfire," his hand hovered, gentleman’s offer, palm open.
"I think hell would freeze over before everyone was kumbaya-ing at a party like this." Catalina’s fingers brushed against his, warm and deliberate, before she took his hand and gave a gentle tug. Her grin was lazy, dangerous, and completely unapologetic. “This,” she said, her voice low and teasing as the music thumped around them, “this is what I call dedication. Firefighter on duty even at a party.”
Her eyes sparkled as she leaned just close enough to let him catch the scent of wine and mischief. “If you’re trying to put out fires, cariño,” she murmured, letting her thumb trace lightly over the back of his hand, “you might’ve come to the wrong girl. I tend to start them.”
With a playful tug, she led him toward the dance floor, hips swaying to the beat. “But… maybe,” she added, voice lilting with amusement, “you like a little chaos."
The smirk on his face widened, a spark of amusement in his eyes. “I’ll take the points,” he said, arching a brow at her. Never one to turn down a drink, he tapped his hand against the bar. “Two more shots, on me.” The bartender gave a quick nod and poured another round. David glanced back at her with a grin. “This time, we’ve got to drink to something.”
She leaned an elbow on the bar, the corner of her red-painted mouth lifting. “Oh, I can think of a few things worth drinking to,” she teased, reaching for the shot. “But if I say them out loud, you might get ideas.” She clinked her glass against his and smirked. “Then again… maybe that’s the point.”
Yvonne looked Catalina up and down and then glanced back at the men. "With your outfit, odds are good. If the winner's still in one piece. Which, given this lot, seems like it's asking a lot."
"But look at his arm muscles..." She whines making eye contact with one of the men. "He looks like he could really pick me up and spin me around..." She teases Yvonne, jutting her elbow into the other woman. "What're you drinking?"
David let his gaze linger on the woman across from him, a faint smirk tugging at his lips as he took in her costume. Lifting his shot, he said with a glint of amusement, “Only one way to find out.” A man with a preference for the finer things, he tapped the base of the glass against the bar before tossing back the drink in one smooth motion, setting it down with a quiet thud.
Catalina's smile widened into a grin. She took the second shot, tapped the glass on the bar and threw it back, caution be damned. It stung in the wonderfully familiar way she loved so much. "Okay...you didn't skimp. You get points for that." She says, giggling, glancing back at the bartender. "I mean...I think we need to do at least one more...just to really get into the party spirit."

David was never one to turn down a good party. Things had been rough lately, especially after the breakup, but he wasn’t about to let that kill his mood. Leaning against the bar, he ordered two shots and slid one toward the person beside him.
“Take a shot with me,” he said, finally turning to meet their eyes.
"Well...shit...twist my arm, why dontcha?" She says, her eyes sparkling as he plays with a strand of her long dark hair. "It better not be the cheap stuff either."

"They try to make me feel like a clown every time I come to these things now...So I thought: Give em' what they want." That self-deprecating humor was unmatched, but she paired it with that soft smile she supported in attendance of these things. Felicity wanted her there, regardless of her feelings towards it.
So, as always, she was sucking it up. "Tell me there's more to do than stand around talking and drink." Two things she'd never been the biggest fan of. She didn't have a safety net or anyone to hold her hand this time.
Catalina had a habit of being drawn to the people that a party who desperately needed to have some fun. It was like a 6th sense she was pleased to have.
"I mean...there's always more to do. I have party favors if you want things to get extra spicy. You can hit on one of the many hot men and women here, there are maybe....possibly...some not involved heavily in a faction somewhere??? oh and there's dancing. Which, beside the party favors, is my favorite thing."

As much as Yvonne loved hanging out with her kids, a night out with other adults was exactly what the doctor ordered. Though, looking out at the assorted gangs of London pressed together into one room, doubts were starting to creep into her head.
"Not sure I should be saying this as the host, but how long do you think we'll make it without a fight breaking out? I give it two hours at the most."
One man bumped into another, and Yvonne drained her glass as they started eyeing each other up.
"Make that fifteen minutes."
Catalina let her lip catch behind her teeth as she stared at the two men who were now almost in full on brawl mode. "What are the chances that I get to take the winner home?" She asked Yvonne. "They're both pretty delicious."

"You can always tell," Benjamin mimicked Melissa's words exactly, his features pulling into a soured expression, huffing like a petulant teenager. "The ones who came to give, and the ones who came to take. The trick is deciding which one you are before anyone else does." Every word was a perfect impression of her. He didn't stop. "She's so...god, she doesn't know how to have a lick of fuckin' fun." He downed the drink quickly. "Another...please."
And he was putting it on her fucking bill, if there was one.
Catalina sidles up to Ben as he's speaking. "Hey...didn't anyone tell you it's a party? No sour faces." She says, putting her hand on his shoulder and leaning in. "C'mon. It's Halloween. Hellooooo? The one night a year where everything else gets to fuck off and you can maybe have a little bit of fun? No?" She teases, her dark eyes glinting. She gestures to her costume. "C'mon. Let me be the devil on your shoulder."

She leaned against the bar with a glass of wine in her hand, a devil in silk and satin. The horns were barely there — subtle, delicate things that glimmered in the light — but the red dress? That was deliberate sin. Gold dripped from her neck and wrists like molten fire, and her lipstick matched the Bordeaux in her glass.
“I swear, if one more person asks me if I ‘came as temptation,’ I’m burning this place down,” she muttered under her breath, half to herself, half to whoever happened to be brave enough to approach.
Her grin was lazy, dangerous, and just this side of inviting. “Come on then,” she said, tilting her head toward the party below. “Dance with the devil before midnight hits. What’s the worst that could happen?
Nevra could think of a few things but simply smiled at the question.
"Not that I'm opposed to burning things down when necessary, is it really such a bad thing for them to think you're the epitome of desire? I'd call that a win." Her wink softened the comment. "Besides, I think Yvonne would be upset if you ruined the party in a blaze of anger. Just ignore them and dance with me."
The dancefloor was practically calling her name and Catalina's request was all she needed. Nevra pulled her out into the center and let the music move her.
Catalina let her smile widen at the compliment, canting her head to the side a bit. "I suppose you're right. It's better than any other thing I could be called."
The Latina let herself be led to the dancefloor, the clack of her heels barely heard over the din of the music. Grinning, she started moving toward the beat of the music. "God, sometimes it's just nice to dance. I need to do this more often."
